The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) started with a thriller between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai on Friday. Chasing a target of 160 runs, Virat Kohli's RCB won the match by two wickets with AB de Villiers playing a sensational knock of 47 off 26. The South Africa legend ran out with RCB still needing two runs off two balls. Mohammed Siraj, coming to bat eighth down, took the strike and took a run, a leg bye to tie the scores. Needing one off the last ball, Harshal Patel faced debutant Marco Jansen, and dug it out for a single. It meant that Rohit Sharma's MI have once again failed to win a season opener. Earlier in the match, Harshal Patel took five wickets to help RCB restrict to 159/9. For the five-time champions, Chris Lynn top-scored with 49. For the record, this is the first time RCB have won a season opener after defeats in 2008, 2017 and 2019. Catch highlights and cricket scores of MI vs RCB clash here:
