Keeping with its earlier decision to award Zimbabwe full points after England refused to play in that country, the ICC refuses to relocate New Zealand's match against Kenya from Nairobi and awards the African country four points.

The International Cricket Council yesterday refused torelocate New Zealand's Pool B league match against Kenya from Nairobi to SouthAfrica and awarded the African country the full four points from the match.

ICC's Executive Board, which met throughteleconference, rejected the application of New Zealand, who had refused totravel to Nairobi citing security fears, requesting that the match, scheduledfor today, be moved to South Africa.

"The Board rejected New Zealand Cricket's requestand, as New Zealand has decided not to travel to Kenya or apply to the EventTechnical Committee, the four points have been awarded to Kenya," the ICCsaid in a statement.

The statment said New Zealand's request was opposed bythe Kenya Cricket Association.

The move is in keeping with ICC's earlier decision toaward Zimbabwe full points after England refused to play its league match inthat country.

"I am happy that the matter is now resolved andthat the ICC Cricket World Cup can move forward," ICC Chief ExecutiveMalcolm Speed said.

"At the same time we have already seen somefantastic matches in this tournament and I am disappointed that this match willnot be taking place.
