BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, a growing dissenting voice within the party, today backed the Aam Aadmi Party after 20 of its MLAs were recommended to be disqualified by the Election Commission (EC).

Taking to twitter, Sinha said the EC's recommendation is 'politics of vendetta', an apparent jibe at his own party, and congratulated the AAP for its success so far.  He even wrote a small verse in support of the party.

 "‘AAP’ Aaye, ( AAP came)

 ‘AAP’ Chhaye, (AAP Shone)

‘AAP’ hi ‘AAP’ Charcha ke Vishaye (AAP and only AAP became talk of the town)!!

Ghar ghar mein, Har khabar mein, (in every home, in every news)

Toh phir kis baat ki fikar ‘AAP’ ko? (Then what worries AAP?)"

Sinha, clearly in awe of the Aam Aadmi Party, has before too expressed his likeness for it.

In 2014, when AAP was at the peak of its political adventure, Sinha had called it the 'baap' (father) of all parties, including the BJP.

The AAP, however, is not in a good place, even as Sinha hopes for them to achieve 'divine justice'.

With the sword of disqualification dangling over the heads of 20 of its MLAs in the office of profit case, the party faces threats in the upcoming by-polls in Delhi.

However, amid the possible disqualification, Kejriwal found an unlikely supporter in BJP ally Shiv Sena.

"There is a question mark on the decision of the Election Commission. Questioning Election Commission is common when decisions like this come. The Election Commission is itself responsible for it," Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said.

 Office of Profit case-

The ECI recommended to the President to disqualify 20 legislators who were appointed as parliamentary secretaries by the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi.

In its opinion sent to the President, the ECI said by being parliamentary secretaries, they held office of profit and were liable to be disqualified as MLAs of the Delhi Assembly.
