Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph took nine wickets between them for West Indies in a thrilling start to the first Test against Australia, before the tourists fought back late on.

Seales dismissed five and Joseph scalped four as Australia were skittled for 180 runs at Kensington Oval in Barbados, but a late flurry of wickets then left the Windies teetering at 53-4 by stumps on day one.

The first two wickets of the day went to Joseph, who trapped Sam Konstas (3) lbw following a review early on before Cameron Green (3) edged his 10th-over delivery to Justin Greaves.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: Head Praises Windies Pacers

"A challenging day and a different wicket than what both teams expected as both teams were going to bat (if they won the toss)," Head said after top scored for Australia with 59.

"Two good-quality seam attacks and they got something out of (the wicket).

"(There were) no surprises in what they were able to bring and get things out of the wicket, but vice versa, we were able to do the same thing in the evening, and it makes for an important couple of hours in the morning."

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 57/4 (20.3)

Day 2 gets underway as the players and umpires make their way onto the field. West Indies will resume their first innings with Brandon King and Roston Chase at the crease, looking to steady the ship after a shaky start late on Day 1.

Australia will hope to make early inroads with Josh Hazlewood taking the new ball, aiming to build on the momentum provided by their bowlers. With conditions still offering assistance, the opening exchanges promise to be crucial in shaping the direction of this Test.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 68/4 (25) Carey Drops King

Drama early on Day 2 as Australia miss a golden opportunity to strike! A back-of-a-length delivery outside off from Josh Hazlewood reared up awkwardly, taking the outside edge of Brandon King's bat as he attempted an ambitious drive on the up. The ball flew quickly but comfortably towards Alex Carey, who moved to his right, only to fumble a straightforward chance.

Despite getting both hands to it, the ball slipped through his fingers and onto the turf, much to the frustration of the bowler and fielders. That’s the second dropped catch of the morning — and Australia won’t want to keep giving West Indies lifelines.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 73/5 (27) King Conquered!

Brandon King pays the price for a poor judgment as Josh Hazlewood strikes with precision! The Australian seamer had been relentless all morning, and his persistence finally paid off. Delivering a back-of-a-length ball that nipped in off a three-quarter seam, Hazlewood deceived King, who chose to leave it alone, misjudging the trajectory.

The ball clipped the top of off stump and sent it cartwheeling, much to Hazlewood’s delight as he raised his arms in celebration. A textbook example of a “bad leave” — and King will rue that decision. That’s the breakthrough Australia needed, and Hazlewood leads the charge.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 95/5 (32)

Drinks on Day 2 and West Indies find themselves at 95 for 5 after 32 overs, still trailing Australia by 85 runs. The morning began with a crucial breakthrough for the hosts as Josh Hazlewood removed Brandon King, who misjudged a delivery that nipped back and let it crash into his off stump.

Since then, Roston Chase and Shai Hope have brought some stability to the innings with a cautious yet composed partnership. Hope, in particular, has looked fluent, stroking a few elegant boundaries, while captain Chase has op

Skipper Roston Chase and most experienced Shai Hope are bringing back the hosts in the game with brilliant partnership. They have already added 53 runs as Hope nears half-century. Shai Hope meanwhile continues to be ever dependable and have been anchoring the inning.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 135/5 (46) Lunch Report

West Indies staged a solid recovery on the second morning of the first Test, reaching 133 for 5 at lunch on Day 2 in response to Australia’s first innings total of 180. Resuming from an overnight score of 57 for 4, the visitors added 76 runs in 26 overs during the first session, losing just one wicket along the way.

Brandon King, who looked tentative from the outset, eventually fell to Josh Hazlewood, misjudging a delivery that jagged back and crashed into his off stump. That early breakthrough, however, was Australia’s only success of the session.

Shai Hope, making his return to the Test side, looked assured from the first ball he faced. He played a pair of commanding drives—one through cover and one straight past the bowler—to announce his arrival at the crease with authority.

At the other end, skipper Roston Chase settled in after a cautious start, growing in confidence with every over. Together, the experienced duo blunted Australia’s disciplined attack, weathering a spell of short-pitched bowling from Hazlewood and Cummins.

Spin was introduced through Nathan Lyon and part-timer Beau Webster, but neither could make inroads as the pair took West Indies past the 100-run mark.

At lunch, the partnership between Chase (unbeaten on 44) and Hope (unbeaten on 32) stood at 63 runs, providing much-needed stability for the visitors. West Indies now trail by just 45 runs, and with both set batters at the crease, they’ll look to push for a lead in the post-lunch session.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 135/5 (46) Second Session Starts

Welcome back to the second session on Day 2, with the game delicately poised as West Indies trail by just 46 runs. With the partnership between Roston Chase and Shai Hope still unbroken, the visitors will be eyeing a first-innings lead and potentially more, especially if the surface continues to ease out for the batters.

Australia, on the other hand, will need to rethink their approach post lunch, likely looking to break the stand quickly and claw back momentum. A crucial session awaits, one that could shape the direction of the Test.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 139/6 (49.2) Skipper Chase Departs

Pat Cummins has struck early in the second session to break the resilient stand, removing West Indies skipper Roston Chase with a well-executed delivery. Bowling from around the wicket, Cummins delivered a good length ball that seamed in sharply towards middle and leg. Chase shuffled across and went deep into the crease in an attempt to glance it fine but was struck on the kneeroll.

The on-field umpire, Adrian Holdstock, raised the finger without hesitation. Chase opted for the review almost instantly, perhaps hopeful of some inside edge or height saving him. However, replays confirmed there was no bat involved and ball-tracking returned three reds — hitting leg stump.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 153/7 (57.3) Webster Removes Greaves

Beau Webster delivers once again for Australia, breaking the partnership and adding to West Indies' woes with the crucial wicket of Justin Greaves. Bowling a probing good-length delivery in the channel outside off, Webster tempted Greaves into a loose back-foot poke.

The batter failed to cover the movement and only managed to feather an outside edge through to Alex Carey behind the stumps. The keeper dived sharply to his right to complete a clean catch, sending Greaves back for just four. Webster, visibly fired up, claimed his second scalp of the session as West Indies slumped to 153 for 7, still trailing by 27 runs.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 162/8 (57.2) Webster Removes Greaves

What a moment of brilliance from Alex Carey behind the stumps! Shai Hope, looking solid, gets an inside edge off a delivery that nips back sharply, and Carey dives full stretch to his left to complete a sensational one-handed catch.

The on-field umpires decide to send it upstairs to confirm whether the catch had carried cleanly. Replays reveal that Carey had his gloves under the ball just in time, and third umpire Adrian Holdstock is convinced — the big screen flashes OUT.

It's a huge breakthrough for Australia as Hope departs, and West Indies slip further to 162 for 8, still 18 runs adrift. The Aussies have been relentless this session, striking thrice with disciplined, probing bowling that has pushed the hosts' lower order into a survival battle.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 171/9 (59) Starc Castles Up Joseph

BOWLED ‘EM! Mitchell Starc delivers yet another thunderbolt to push Australia closer to wrapping up the West Indies innings. This one wasn’t the perfect yorker he was aiming for but ended up being an equally lethal low full toss on leg stump.

Shamar Joseph shuffled across in an attempt to flick it away but missed, the ball crashing into his front pad and deflecting onto the base of off-stump. A fiery strike from Starc, who’s been breathing fire this session, and West Indies are now nine down, still trailing by nine runs. It’s been a devastating hour for the hosts — four wickets lost in rapid succession, with Australia seizing full control.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: WI 190 All Out (60) Hosts Lead Australia By 10 Runs

A woeful second session from West Indies has shifted the momentum back firmly in Australia’s favour on Day 2 of the first Test. Heading into lunch at a relatively steady 134/5 after losing just one wicket in the morning, the hosts imploded spectacularly in the second session, losing their final five wickets for just 55 runs and squandering a chance to build a sizeable lead.

What followed lunch was a mixture of poor shot selection, conservative batting, and disciplined Australian bowling. Roston Chase and Shai Hope, who had steadied the innings earlier, went into an ultra-defensive shell.

Sensing the hesitation, Pat Cummins tightened his lines, eventually trapping Chase LBW. Moments later, Beau Webster, introduced as first change, struck twice — removing Justin Greaves and then the well-set Hope, both caught behind. His accuracy and subtle movement proved decisive in opening up the tail.

Mitchell Starc, with his trademark aggression, fired in a full delivery to remove Shamar Joseph via an inside edge onto the stumps, and Nathan Lyon cleaned up Jayden Seales to bring an end to a disappointing West Indian innings.

Though they managed to sneak ahead with a narrow 10-run lead, West Indies will rue a golden opportunity lost. Australia, having clawed their way back into the contest, now have a clean slate to bat and take command heading into the final session of the day.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 11/0 (4) Konstas Dropped

Australia have made a bright start to their second innings, aided by some very poor fielding from the West Indies. Konstas was dropped twice in the same over off Joseph, the first chance being dropped by Campbell and the second by Greaves.

Other misfield on the pitch, allowing the batters to rate the strike, and the visitors have 11 runs already.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 27/1 (8.4) Khawaja OUT!

And West Indies get their first wicket! It’s the dangerous Usman Khawaja who departs early. A seamer from Alzarri Joseph beats his defence and hits him on the pads, but the Aussie batter reviews immediately.

As he had jumped, height could have been a factor, but review show it hititng the top of the stumps and it’s given out as per umpire’s call.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 34/2 (11.2) Konstas OUT!

Dropped twice earlier, Konstas' stay finally comes to an end as Shamar Joseph gets him in the third time of asking. A poor innings from the batter, and it's a poor dismissal as well.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 51/2 (18.1) Fifty Up!

The pitch is clearly not an easy surface for batting, with both the Aussie players – Green and Inglis – struggling to get anything past the West Indies pacers. The visitors finally get over the 50-run mark in the 19th over with a well-run three in the slow pitch, but it’s tough conditions at Barbados.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 63/3 (24.1)

Australia are well and truly feeling the heat now. Firstly, Josh Inglis has a disappointing end to his innings after deciding to leave the wrong delivery off Seales, and it ends up hitting the stumps. Head, as well, has tried to come out all guns firing, but other than one boundary, has nothing to show for it.

Meanwhile, Greaves almost got Cameron Green with a huge LBW call, but the review, controversially, decides that the ball hit the bat before the pads.

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 65/4 (25) Green OUT!

Green just lasts five deliveries after his LBW lifeline. He tries to hit it hard, but the ball gets an outside edge and is caught by Chase at first slip. No mistakes this time in the West Indies fielding.

Cameron Green 14(47) c Chase b Greaves

WI Vs AUS LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 2: AUS 92/4 (33) STUMPS!

Head and Webster have sucessfully reached stumps on Day 2, with Australia leading by 82 runs. Head was hit on the gloves by Shamar Joseph and received some treatment on the field, but protected his wicket.
