BCCI Announces T20I Squad For West Indies Tour

The five-match T20I series, which will commence on August 3, will see Hardik Pandya lead the side, with Suryakumar Yadav as the vice-captain.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the T20 squad to represent India during the tour of West Indies, which starts with the first Test on July 12.

In a media release, the Indian cricket's governing body said, "The Senior Men's Selection Committee on Wednesday picked India's squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies to be played in the Caribbean Islands and in Florida, USA."

Tilak Varma received his maiden call-up to the national team in the shortest format and so did Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is already a part of the Test team.

Hardik Pandya will lead the team across five matches, with Suryakumar Yadav serving as his deputy.

Earlier, the BCCI had released the Test and ODI teams for the tour to West Indies. In a surprise move, Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from the Test team.
