Commuting in Delhi autorickshaws and taxis will cost you extra now with the government notified revised fares. According to the new fares, the metre down charge (minimum fare) for the first 1.5 kilometre for autorickshaws has been increased from rupees 25 to 30, while the per kilometre charge afterwards has been hiked from rupees 9.50 to 11.
The emended charges came into effect from January 9. No increase in waiting charges and night charges for autorickshaws has been made, however the charges for extra luggage have been raised from Rs 7.50 to Rs 10. The current charge for taxis for the initial km was Rs 25 for both AC and non-AC types which has now been hiked up to Rs 40. The per kilometre rates after metre down will be hiked to Rs 17 for non-AC and Rs 20 for AC taxis. The rates were Rs 14 for non-AC and Rs 16 for AC before the revision.

Night charges at 25 per cent have not been changed, but the current waiting charge of Rs 30 will be charged by Rupee 1 per minute after a 15 minutes stay. The extra luggage charge has been hiked from Rs 10 to Rs 15.
Citing increased CNG prices in the national capital, the AAP-led government sent a file to Lieutenant Governor, V K Saxena on December 17 notifying revised autorickshaw and taxi fares in Delhi. In October 2022, Delhi government had approved the increase in fares on the recommendation of a committee constituted in the wake of soaring CNG prices in the city.

The last revision in the autorickshaw fares was effected in 2020. For taxis, which includes black-and-yellow taxi, economy taxi and premium taxi, the last revision was nine years back in 2013.
