Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the annual budget tabled in the state assembly here on Wednesday will help realise the vision of building a new and strong Uttarakhand.

"It reflects an inclusive and holistic approach. Be it health, education, agriculture, horticulture, rural development or tourism -- every sector has been taken care of," Dhami told reporters.

The chief minister especially mentioned the provision of Rs 200 crore made in the budget for building 50,000 polyhouses in the state.

He also mentioned apple, kiwi and millet missions for which allocations have been made in the budget.

The budget has been designed to ensure that the decade belongs to Uttarakhand, he said.

"It is a balanced budget which reaches out to every section," Dhami said.

“The budget of more than Rs 77,000 crore which has a revenue surplus of Rs 4,309 crore also shows our efficient fiscal management," he said.

Dhami also spoke of an allocation of Rs 1,000 crore made in the budget for Joshimath, noting that rebuilding the subsidence-hit town is the state government's commitment.

He also thanked the Centre for its “wholehearted support” in the endeavour.
