Latto is an American rapper and singer who is well-known for her songs like Big Energy (2022) and Seven (2023). Popularly known as Miss Mulatto, Latto is the stage name of Alyssa Michelle Stephens. She became well-known after winning the first season of "The Rap Game," a reality TV programme by Jermaine Dupri. After this victory, Latto started a successful musical career, releasing a variety of mixtapes, singles, and EPs.

Stephens decided to become a rapper when she was ten years old and started her path by writing her own rap songs. She participated in drag racing before entering the music industry.

Latto, who was born on December 22, 1998, made her debut in 2016 on "The Rap Game." Over her musical career she has released numerous albums and collaborations with well-known musicians, including Saweetie, Trina, Gucci Mane, Cardi B, Mariah Carey, Doja Cat, Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage. Big Energy is one of the breakthrough hit singles from her 2022 album 777.

It achieved amazing chart positions and received nominations and wins at prominent award shows including the BET Hip Hop Awards for Best Hip Hop Album of the Year and Billboard Music Awards for Top Rap Female Artist. In February 2021, Latto was announced to be named MTV's Global Push Artist of the month.

Latto signed a contract with RCA Records after releasing her debut song Bitch from da Souf in 2019. Notably, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at position 95 thanks to a remix featuring the rappers Saweetie and Trina. In 2020, Latto and Gucci Mane collaborated on the song Muwop.

In 2023, Latto made history when she became the first artist to have a song that topped both the Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200 charts with a collaboration with famous BTS member Jungkook on the song Seven. In February 2023, she was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Apart from her music career, during 2017, Latto also established her personal shop, named Pittstop Clothing, situated in Jonesboro, Georgia.
