To offer assistance, Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, a travel insurance provider, has recently published its ninth annual State of Travel Insurance report. This report highlights the safest countries in the world for travelers.

Carol Mueller, Vice President at Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, conveyed to USA TODAY via email, "The definition of safe destination has evolved.” 

"In our most recent survey, travelers lean in on countries they believe as safe destinations they can move about freely without discrimination or harassment."harassment.

In order to compile this list, the travel insurance provider conducted a survey that included 1,702 people with regard to their personal travel experiences across various countries. Additionally, they gathered data from external sources that assess safety aspects, encompassing factors like terrorism, weather-related emergencies, healthcare measures, and the saety of marginalized communities. This data collection process incorporated sources such as the Global Peace Index and the travel safety ratings provided by the State Department.
