Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, recent induction in the arms case has led to a sudden flurry in American politics amid the 2024 presidential election. He is the son of President Joe Biden and was indicted in connection with a gun purchased in 2018 by David Weiss. It has happened for the first time in US history that the Justice Department has charged the close relative of a sitting president.

The younger Biden has been charged with two counts related to false statements in purchasing the firearm and a third count of illegally obtaining a firearm while addicted to drugs.

This indictment has brought the matter into focus for the 2024 presidential election. The Republican party will leave no stone unturned to popularize the issue in the public domain to criticize the Biden administration. Former President has slammed Hunter Biden on Truth Social media post, saying, "This, the gun charge, is the only crime that Hunter Biden committed that does not implicate Crooked Joe Biden. One down, Eleven to go! The Democrats, with all of their horrible, very unfair, and mostly illegal Witch Hunts, have started a process that is very dangerous for our Country. They have opened the proverbial Pandora’s Box, and it is possible that the USA will never be the same again. SO SAD!!!"

Before the indictment, Kevin McCarthy, the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, announced the impeachment inquiry on President Biden while the move was canceled as a political stunt. He said there were “serious and credible allegations” into the family business of the President.

Republican presidential candidate and Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy called the indictment a “smokescreen” on his X account. He posted, “Today’s indictment of Hunter Biden is a smokescreen. Don’t fall for it. This is a fig leaf designed to deflect attention away from the real problem: the Biden family is selling out U.S. foreign policy for their own family’s private financial gain. That’s really what’s wrong, and we must hold politicians in both major political parties accountable when they use our foreign policy to enrich their family members.”

Hunter Biden has been charged with two charges of false statements regarding firearms and three charges of illegally purchasing firearms.

The President has repeatedly emphasized his commitment to transparency in the administration, but the indictment can tarnish his image and perception among American voters in the upcoming election.
