Following the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, several misleading and fake videos are being widely circulated on social media. One such video is of Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the tragic Air India crash, which claimed that he was lying about his experience.

Actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi fell prey to the fake video and shared a post on X where she questioned Ramesh's survival story, post which she faced severe backlash on social media. Later, she issued a public apology.

In the post (now-deleted ), Suchitra wrote, "So this #vishwaskumarramesh lied about being a passenger on the plane & the only survivor? This is seriously weird. Didn't his family in the UK corroborate his story? What about his brother's funeral that he was seen giving kandha to? Deserve not only some serious punishment but some mental asylum time if this is true uff."

After facing criticism for the post, Suchitra shared another post where she wrote, "Took out my last tweet on the air India crash survivor. Seems to be false news circulated for God knows what reason. My apologies."

Who is Vishwas Kumar Ramesh?

Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British businessman from Leicester, was traveling with his brother Ajay, on the Air India Ahmedabad-London Gatwick flight on June 12. Both were natives of Diu, and were returning to London after visiting their family. The devastating plane crash took life of his brother including other people onboard.

Vishwas was in the 11A seat of the Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The seat was close to the emergency exit and he somehow survived after jumping out of the charred flight. Later, he was taken to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital for treatment. After being discharged, he attended the funeral of his brother, in their hometown.

Earlier in an interview with Doordarshan, Vishwas, recalling his escape, had said, "Luckily, the portion of the plane where I was seated fell on the ground floor of the hostel premises after the plane crash landed.

"When I saw the door was broken, I told myself I had a chance to escape. Eventually, I got out of the plane," he added.
