Poonam Dhillon hospitalised
Journalist Vickey Lalwani shared update on Poonam Dhillon’s health on Instagram.
He wrote, “Poonam Dhillon has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. The senior actress has been diagnosed with dengue and has been in the hospital for quite some days now. This journalist texted her this morning and she said she’s recovering. Praying for her full recovery and hoping that she’s back home soon.”
Dhillon's hospitalisation comes days after the Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) made headlines when eight members of its executive committee resigned from their posts and demanded fresh elections.
About CINTAA controversy
Dhillon rejected the allegations made against her and senior vice president Padmini Kolhapure, calling the claims “offensive”. She also said some of the statements were “very inappropriate and hurtful.”
The 64-year-old actress told ANI that the dispute started when “things were not going their way. They were trying to exercise control over the CINTAA members through the CAWT, and when that did not happen, they started making strange and serious allegations against us.”
“You wouldn't believe how vulgar the allegations were. They were so offensive that, if we wanted to, we could have considered taking action for defamation against each and every person involved. Such allegations, hurtful statements, and offensive language were circulated widely.”
Despite the offensive statements, Dhillon said she and others “chose to remain silent,” adding that her “self-respect, my integrity is more important” than the dispute.
Dhillon also expressed displeasure over the treatment by Cine Artistes Welfare Trust (CAWT).
She also said that she and Padmini were using their personal contacts and professional relationships for the organisation's betterment.
The senior actor also believes the members should focus on helping and CINTAA'sgrowth, rather than on personal recognition.
