Bhopal, September 7, 2026: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during his visit to the United Arab Emirates, met His Excellency Taye Atske Selassie, President of Ethiopia. The two leaders held detailed discussions on the possibilities of investment in Madhya Pradesh, further strengthening India-Ethiopia economic relations and opportunities to increase trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav apprised the President of Ethiopia of the investment opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh, the favourable industrial environment and the possibilities existing in various sectors. He said that Madhya Pradesh is playing an important role in India’s economic development, and new opportunities are continuously being developed in the state for global investors.

Inviting Ethiopia’s industrial and business community to invest in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state offers wide investment possibilities in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, logistics, energy and modern technology. He also invited the President of Ethiopia to participate in the proposed Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that continuous efforts are being made to make Madhya Pradesh a major centre of investment, industry and innovation through partnerships with global investors.

Emphasis on Giving New Momentum to India-Ethiopia Economic Partnership

During the meeting, discussions were also held on further expanding economic relations between India and Ethiopia and exploring new possibilities of investment and business cooperation between Madhya Pradesh and Ethiopia. Both sides discussed the possibilities of promoting mutual cooperation in the areas of trade and investment.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, on the second day of his visit to Dubai, met Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. During this meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav provided information about the investment-friendly environment in Madhya Pradesh and the various industrial and business opportunities available in the state. Discussions were held on possibilities of investment promotion, industrial cooperation, investor connection and increasing market access between Madhya Pradesh and Ras Al Khaimah.

The two leaders discussed possibilities of cooperation in sectors such as ceramics and construction materials, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, tourism and hospitality, food processing, logistics and renewable energy. Emphasis was laid on strengthening institutional coordination between both sides to promote investment and business activities in these sectors.

Discussions were also held regarding providing investors with timely facilitation in Madhya Pradesh through identification of land, necessary approvals, infrastructure-related facilities and state-level nodal support. A proposal was made to invite companies and institutions from Ras Al Khaimah to invest in Madhya Pradesh and jointly identify areas of cooperation in priority sectors.

Ras Al Khaimah is an established centre in the fields of manufacturing, ceramics, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, tourism and logistics. Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand, provides investors effective access to the Indian market through its central geographical location, competitive costs, available industrial land, established infrastructure and single-window facility. The meeting also discussed opportunities for cooperation based on the complementary capabilities of both sides.
