Hello and welcome to everyone joining us late in the weekend for some football action. The FIFA World Cup qualifiers pit Spain against Turkey, and we will bring to you the build-up and live updates from the encounter.

This is how the Unai Simon-led Spain line up for tonight's clash against Turkey:
And here's Turkiye's line-up:
Play gets underway at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium. Turkiye kicking from left to right and Spain from right to left in the first half. The stadium is a sea of red and that is one factor in favour of the home side, as they combat the mighty Spanish challenge.
Spain are away and running. Pedri puts La Roja in front in the sixth minute, latching on to Nico Williams' assist clinically. Turkiye try to counter and almost equalise soon after, but miss out in the final third.
Spain stun Turkiye with a fantastic team goal. Mikel Oyarzabal's ball slices open the home team defence and Mikel Merino drills it home from his left foot in the 22nd minute. La Roja now two goals to the good.
Spain are all over Turkiye currently. They have created so many chances that the scoreline of 2-0 does not appear to reflect the state of play accurately. But just as we say that, the tourists try to claw their way back, creating some purposeful moves at the edge of the Spanish box. The first half is into its final few minutes.
Mikel Merino nets his second at the stroke of half-time. Mikel Oyarzabal lines up the assist once again and the Arsenal midfielder drives it in from his right foot. Spain lead Turkiye 3-0, going into the lemon break.
Turkiye get the second half underway, kicking from right to left while Spain are attacking from left to right. Vincenzo Montella makes one substitution as Oguz Aydin is in for Yunus Akgun.
Spain have a fourth! Lamine Yamal plays Ferran Torres across the face of the Turkiye goal and the Barcelona forward powers it past Turkiye goalie Ugurcan Cakır in the 53rd minute.
Hat-trick for Mikel Merino! The Spanish midfielder now makes the most of Lamine Yamal's pass and beats Ugurcan Cakır one more time to complete a mesmeric treble in the 57th minute. How many more can Spain score tonight?
The onslaught continues from Spain, and the horrified Turkiye have nowhere to look. Pedri gets his second in the 62nd courtesy Mikel Oyarzabal's assist and Luis de la Fuente's men have now hit the hosts for a six.
Over in Cologne, Germany lead Northern Ireland 3-1 in a crucial Group A fixture. The first half ended at 1-1, but the Germans netted twice in a space of three minutes via Nadiem Amiri and a stunning Florian Wirtz free-kick to regain ascendance.
The nightmare finally ends for Turkiye. After three minutes of added time in the second half, the final whistle is blown and Spain humble the hosts by a massive 6-0 margin. La Roja strengthen their hold on the Group E top spot with six points, while Turkiye slump to third.
