Greetings and welcome everyone. We are back with another live blog, and this time it is the FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Greece and Denmark. Stay with us for the build-up and live updates from the Group C encounter.
The match kicks off at 12:15am IST. The Greece vs Denmark, FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match will be live streamed on the Sony LIV app and website in India. It will be telecast on the Sony Sports Ten 5 SD and HD TV channels in the country.
This is how Greece line up for tonight's high-stakes clash with Denmark:
And here is Denmark's line-up for the match:
The match gets underway at the Karaiskakis Stadium. Greece kicking from right to left and Denmark from left to right in the first half. A good tempo to the game in the early moments as both sides attempt forays into their opposition boxes.
In group L, European heavyweights Croatia are hosting world No. 77 side Montenegro in Zagreb. The match is currently locked at 0-0 and we are covering it live.
What a delightful way for Denmark to score their first goal in FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying! Mikkel Damsgaard drills in a beautifully placed shot from outside the box to beat Greek goalie Konstantinos Tzolakis and put the Danes ahead in the 32nd minute.
After two minutes of added time, the referee blows the whistle to signal the end of the first half and it is Denmark who go into the lemon break with a slender one-goal lead. Greece have played with great intensity so far and can certainly hope to find an equaliser if they resume in the same vein.
The teams return from the mid-game interval and the second half gets underway. Denmark now kicking from right to left and Greece from right to left. The hosts are no doubt looking to neutralise Mikkel Damsgaard's stunner early in this 45-minute period.
In Group I, Israel and Italy are engrossed in a thrilling clash at Nagyerdei Stadion. Both sides have scored soon after the half-time break to leave the scoreline at 2-2. Head over to our match blog for live updates.
Denmark add another! Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg lines up an assist for Andreas Christensen, who converts from his right foot from outside the box in the 62nd minute. Greece really have their backs against the wall now.
Kosovo lead Sweden 2-0 in Pristina currently, banking on first-half goals from Elvis Rexhbecaj (26th) and Vedat Muriqi (42nd). The Group B match is into its 75th minute and is crucial in the two teams' battle to take the second spot after leaders Switzerland.
Rasmus Hojlund! The 22-year-old Danish striker is at the right place at the right time and knocks in the rebound from the upright into the empty Greek net in the 81st minute. Denmark have their third and that's the match done and dusted, I am afraid.
Three minutes of stoppage time added to the second half. Tzolakis is still being kept busy and he does well to avoid a fourth goal against his name in the dying moments.
There comes the final whistle, and the scoreline stays at a thumping 3-0 in favour of the visitors. Denmark clinically complete the job they had arrived in Greece to do, and earn their first win to provisionally lead Group C with four points from two games. Greece slump to third with the defeat.
