Abhishek Sharma gave Hyderabad a flying start with a blistering 56 off just 22 balls, smashing five sixes and four boundaries. Ishan Kishan then anchored the innings superbly with 79 off 46 deliveries, while Heinrich Klaasen continued the assault with a rapid 51 from only 24 balls. Nitish Kumar Reddy’s unbeaten 29 off 12 ensured SRH crossed the 250-run mark comfortably.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru began the chase aggressively and even outscored Hyderabad during the powerplay. Venkatesh Iyer looked dangerous early on, but RCB lost both openers inside the first six overs, which slowed their momentum significantly. Devdutt Padikkal also got a start before falling to Eshan Malinga, leaving Bengaluru under pressure in the middle overs.
Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya tried to rebuild the innings with an 84-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Patidar returned to the XI with a fighting 56 off 39 balls, while Krunal remained unbeaten on 41. However, SRH bowlers smartly used slower deliveries and cutters to prevent RCB from maintaining the required run rate, which eventually climbed beyond 20 runs per over.
Hyderabad eventually restricted Bengaluru to 200 for 4 to complete a convincing victory. Despite the huge win, SRH failed to secure the massive net run rate swing required for a top-two finish. The result officially confirmed Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the top-two teams heading into the IPL 2026 playoffs.
