Mitchell Marsh blazed a dashing 90-run knock off just 38 balls to power LSG over the line comfortably. He smashed nine fours and seven sixes during his innings and forged a blistering 135-run opening stand with Josh Inglis (36), where Marsh was the dominating partner.
Once Marsh got out, the run-rate slowed for a bit, but when the equation came to 24 off the same number of balls, Nicholas Pooran blasted four consecutive sixes off Anshul Kamboj to finish the ball with 20 balls left.
Earlier in the first innings, CSK posted a decent 187 runs on board on the back of a scintillating half-century by Kartik Sharma. For LSG, the new inductee, Akash Singh, impressed by picking three key wickets of CSK, including that of in-form Sanju Samson.
This loss had dented CSK's playoff chances heavily as they now have to win their remaining two matches against in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans to keep their fate in their own hands.
