Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has credited Mumbai Indians' match-winners for their recent upturn in form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

The five-time champions, who started off slowly, find themselves in fourth position in the IPL 2025 points table.

MI had lost their opening fixture to Chennai Super Kings but after a few setbacks, Hardik Pandya-led side have recovered to win seven games from possible 12 matches.

Speaking to Star Sports, Manjrekar felt that MI's match-winners and their knack of rising to the occasion, makes them a dangerous outfit in the Indian Premier League.

"I’m not sure their campaign will be derailed, even with a few overseas players like Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks potentially unavailable for key games. They’ve managed to slot players into the right roles. At the start, they looked a bit unsure, but now they seem to have clarity.

Suryakumar Yadav is having one of his best IPL seasons. And when it comes to high-pressure situations, MI have players who thrive – Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar, and even Rohit Sharma, despite his recent form. That’s why they’ve been serial winners.

"Like CSK had Shane Watson or Mike Hussey come up big in critical moments, MI have their own match-winners. It’s this knack for rising to the occasion that makes them such a dangerous side," Manjrekar concluded.

Speaking about Mumbai Indians, they play their next game against Delhi Capitals on May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium. If MI win their next match, they could potentially seal their spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs stage.
