He had started this innings on a fluent note, then went a little quiet once the spinners tightened the screws, but that shot screams confidence. Clean, fearless, and perfectly timed. Conway raises the bat, the crowd acknowledges it, and New Zealand’s left-hander looks ready to shift gears again.

Washington Sundar darts it in and Nicholls nudges it away for a single, and that’s enough. Arms go up, helmet comes off, and there’s a quiet but satisfied smile. Fifty for Nicholls.

Conway steps up, eyes locked, and just, pure class! Siraj pitches it full and wide of off, not exactly a sitter, but Conway isn’t fussed.
