A senior BNP adviser said Bangladesh wants to reset ties with India after the party’s sweeping election win, urging New Delhi to recognise the new political reality and ensure its territory is not used by Sheikh Hasina or Awami League figures.
The BNP signalled willingness for balanced relations with India, China and the US, stressing national interest, regional cooperation and counter-terror coordination.
India said it remains committed to Bangladesh’s peace and stability, while Rahman has invited PM Narendra Modi to attend his February 17 swearing-in ceremony.
