Despite the brutal suppression of the procession in Tehran by the Basijmilitia and the Revolutionary Guards on June 20,2009, causing the death of atleast 20 protesters, groups of protesters assembled in different parts of Tehranon the afternoon of June 22, 2009, to mourn the martyrdom of Neda, a woman, whowas allegedly killed by the Basij on June 20.

Her death has added to the anger of the anti-government protesters, but theyare no longer able to collect as many people as they were able to on June 20.This is because of the heavy deployment of the Basij and the RevolutionaryGuards all over Tehran.
