Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins became the costliest player in the IPL 2020 Player Auction. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 15.50 crore for the 2020 Indian Premier League season.

Cummins also became the second most expensive player in an IPL auction, after none other than Yuvraj Singh. The pacer also broke Ben Stokes record of being the most expensive foreigner in the IPL. In the 2017 auction, Rising Pune Supergiant paid Rs 14.5 crore for the Englishman.

For the acquisition of Pat Cummins, the auction saw a three-way bidding war between Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. In the end, KKR won the battle.

Also, Cummins' base price was Rs 2 Crore.

Cummins will be joining England's World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan, who earlier made a big money Rs 5.25 crore move to KKR. Meanwhile, also Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell joined Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 10.75 Crore.
