Is Coronavirus sexually transmitted? The answer is a NO -- or at least it has not been proven so far.  But you can definitely contract the virus through another expression of intimacy: kissing.

If one of you is developing symptoms related to the Coronavirus, then you should practice social distancing and try to avoid any intimacy with your partner.

People can get Coronavirus if someone coughs in their proximity. That is why it is advised to cover your mouth while coughing or sneezing and wipe down the surface that might come into contact with saliva. But when it comes to kissing your partner, there is a higher possibility that the virus can be passed through the saliva, for that cannot be avoided during a kiss.  So, if you’re making out, please avoid kissing or oral sex. And if you are having vaginal sex, make sure to use condoms for extra protection.

And, what about cuddling?

It’s not the time to stop cuddling, Right now, people are stressed and anxious, and those feelings might only get worse if you close yourself off to interaction with your significant other. But be conscious of your hygiene: wash your hands regularly and keep your living space extra clean and sanitized. Couples are committed to making it through a horrible situation.

There are couples who have managed to strike a balance between pursuing solo activities and enjoying each other's company.

Love isn't always perfect. Love is overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, fighting to be together, holding on and never letting go. Love is work but most of all, it is realizing that every hour, every minute,  and every second was worth it because you did it together.

Also, I would advise people who are in long-distance relationships to use technology to their advantage.

The national lockdown has given the couples ample time to be direct about their feelings and to have heart-to-heart conversations about their inner thoughts and vulnerabilities.

People are being more candid, patient and nice to each other. They are going out of their way to be kind. Taking advantage of this national lockdown, many couples have got a chance to rekindle their relationship and are happy to be locked up at home with each other!

They are letting the small things slide and using this downtime to find new and creative ways to connect with each other. Couples are inoculating their marriages against fear, anxiety, and uncertainties by making love. Many are even planning on starting a family!

Based on my online consultation with my patients.
