  • The Ninja ZX-6R is priced at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
  • Deliveries commence from the first week of this month.
  • Pre-bookings opened in November 2018.
  • It is the only middleweight supersport in the country.

Kawasaki India has commenced deliveries for the Ninja ZX-6R from this week onwards. The motorcycle is sold via the CKD route and is priced at Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom, India. However, this is only the introductory pricing and the Japanese brand says it will go up considerably soon. Pre-bookings commenced way back in November 2018, and bookings are still open at all Kawasaki dealerships. Interestingly, the India-spec bike is a single seater. We believe most buyers would not want to go pillion on such a committed motorcycle but it remains to be seen how customers would react to it.

In the Indian market, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R doesn’t have any natural rivals, but in its price bracket, the Triumph Street Triple RS comes quite close to being a track-friendly motorcycle. Here’s Kawasaki’s statement:
