Manchester United have managed to hold Liverpool to a 0-0 stalemate in their English Premier League 2023-24 clash, which means that Arsenal will end the week on top of the table, just one point ahead of Liverpool.

7:30 PM: Bangladesh Win ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup Final By 195 Runs

In the final of the ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup, Bangladesh defeated hosts  United Arab Emirates by 195 runs to clinch the title for the first time. After being asked to bat first, Bangladesh made 282 runs with the help of opener batter Ashiqur Rahman Shibli's 129-run knock in 149 balls. UAE, in response, were bundled out for 87 runs. Shibli was nominated player of the match and player of the series as well.

7:00 PM: All India Amateur C'ships: Subhash Tamang Creates History

According to PTI, Subhash Tamang, who comes from a humble background, became the first golfer from Nepal to win the prestigious All India Amateur Championships run by the Indian Golf Union. Tamang, who was almost 10 when he first held a golf club, beat Rohit of India 9&7 to win the 122nd edition of the tournament at the iconic Royal Calcutta Golf Club.

6:30 PM: IND Win By 8 Wickets Against RSA

Arshdeep Singh bowled a dream first spell and found an ally in equally menacing Avesh Khan as a second-string Indian team annihilated South Africa by eight wickets in the opening ODI in Johannesburg on Sunday. India now lead the three-match series 1-0. Read the match report here

5:30 PM: Ishan Kishan Released From IND Squad

Indian cricket team's premier wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been released from the upcoming two-match Test series. Kishan will not be a part of the Test squad against South Africa as he has flown back home due to personal reasons. KS Bharath, who is currently in South Africa as India 'A' skipper, has been inducted into the main squad.

4:30 PM: Odisha Masters Results

India's Sathish Kumar Karunakaran secured his maiden BWF Super 100 title after outwitting world junior championship bronze medallist Ayush Shetty in an all-Indian men's singles final at the Odisha Masters in Cuttack on Sunday. 

Indian pair of Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila also stood at the podium after winning the mixed doubles title following a thrilling three-game win over Singapore's Hee Yong Kai Terry and Tan Wei Han Jessica in a pulsating final.

Sixth-seeded Indian men's doubles pair of Krishna Prasad Garaga and Sai Pratheek K also progressed to the final and will face seventh-seeded Lin Bing-Wei and Su Ching Heng of Chinese Taipei.

3:40 PM: Ramkumar To Lead IND In Davis Cup

Ramkumar Ramanathan was named to a five-man squad for the grass court challenge against Pakistan on Sunday, indicating that an Indian Davis Cup team is preparing to play on Pakistani soil for the first time in 60 years, even as AITA awaits the ITF tribunal's decision on its appeal against travel to the neighbouring country due to security concerns.

2:30 PM: AUS Win By 360 Runs!

Australia defeated Pakistan by 360 runs in the first test on a difficult Perth surface, with Nathan Lyon earning the coveted milestone of 500 test wickets on Day 4 of the match on Sunday. Pakistan was blasted out for 89 all out in the closing session of Day 4 to suffer its 15th successive test defeat in Australia after the host team set a challenging 450-run total while declaring its second innings at 233-5 approximately half an hour after lunch.

2:00 PM: IND Announce 6-Member Squad For Davis Cup In PAK

According to PTI, a six-member Indian team has been picked for the Davis Cup World Group I Play-off Tie against Pakistan in Islamabad from February 3-4. The team, picked on Saturday, includes Ramakumar Ramanathan, N Shriram Balaji, Yuki Bhambri, Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha, Saketh Myneni, and Digvijay Pratap Singh, who is a reserve player in the squad.

1:30 PM: RSA Opted To Bat First, IND Strike Early 

South Africa won the toss of the first ODI match of the three-game series and opted to bat first on the used pitch of New Wanderers in Johannesburg. Arshdeep Singh sent opener batter Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen back to the pavilion in his first over of the spell on back-to-back deliveries. Twenty-two-year-old Tamil Nadu's Sai Sudharsan will make his India ODI debut against South Africa in Johannesburg! The youngster has received his first cap following a fantastic season with both Tamil Nadu and Gujarat Titans. 

12:15 PM: Cricket Update 

A bit of drama today at the Dunedin Stadium, where New Zealand beat Bangladesh in their ongoing Test match with a little help from the rain. Twenty-five overs in, New Zealand thought they had scalped Shoriful Islam when Rachin Ravindra caught the ball that he had skied off an Adam Milne delivery. However, in a rare occurrence, Islam was called back onto the field after the umpires decreed that Milne had bowled his third bouncer of the over. Now that's something you do not see that often!

Unfortunately for Bangladesh, Shoriful surrendered his wickets just two balls later, triggering a collapse that would hand the win to their opponents. 

11:30 AM: Tom Lockyer 'Stable' After Pitch Collapse

Luton Town's Tom Lockyer suffered his second on-pitch cardiac arrest on Saturday, December 16, with his team in high-intensity Premier League action against AFC Bournemouth. Lockyer was provided the necessary medical care and removed to a hospital, where he later recovered and was considered to be in a stable condition. The match, meanwhile, was abandoned for the time being.

Play has resumed in Perth for Day 4 of the Test match between Australia and Pakistan, with the hosts leading by 402 runs at Lunch. The Aussies, after returning the entire Pakistan team for just 271 runs, have made 186 runs for the loss of four wickets at the time of writing - and are aiming to set a mammoth target for their opponents.

9:00 AM: Euro Football Recap 

Premier League - Chelsea returned to winning ways with a Cole Palmer-inspired 2-0 victory over bottom-ranked side Sheffield United. Meanwhile, Manchester City surrendered a two-goal lead against bogey team Crystal Palace, drawing 2-2 to fall further behind in the title race. Everton, on the other hand, continued their resurgence with a 2-0 win over Burnley. 

Serie A - Victor Osimhen's wonder assist helped reigning Italian champions SSC Napoli beat Cagliari 2-1. The pair exchanged all three goals in six minutes after the hour, with Osimhen netting first and later supplying Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with the winning goal. Former Napoli man Leonardo Pavoletti scored Cagliari's consolation in between the two.

La Liga - Ernesto Valverde's Athletic Club registered a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in an end-to-end Saturday evening game. Athletic had Gorka Guruzeta and Nico Williams to thank for the goals, especially the young Williams, whose wonder strike to seal the points left the arena in awe. Barcelona, meanwhile, drew with Valencia to fall off the pace in their title charge. Joao Felix netted the opening goal for Barca, only for Hugo Guillamon to cancel out his strike later on. 

Ligue 1 - Title-chasing OGC Nice succumbed to their second loss in three games - just the second loss of their season - in a feisty encounter with high-flying Le Havre. Both teams finished the game with ten men, with Le Havre sealing the points courtesy of a 3-1 triumph.

Bundesliga - RB Leipzig beat TSG Hoffenheim 3-1, thanks to second-half goals from New York-bound Emil Forsberg and Mohamed Simakan. Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund and Augsburg cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw.
