Day 3 of the Asian Games 2023 saw India swell up it's medal tally to 14. India won it's third gold medal at the Games in Equestrian. Neha Thakur bagged silver in Girl's Dinghy - ILCA 4 category whereas Eabad Ali won bronze in men's windsurfing RS:X category. Ace Indian fencer Bhavani Devi and shooters Divyansh Singh Panwar, Ramita Jindal fell agonizingly short of a medal. In Tennis, Sumit Nagal and Ankita Raina have entered the quarter-final stage in the men's and women's singles category, respectively. India's Srihari Nataraj, Likith Selvaraj, Sajan Prakash and Tanish George have finished fifth in the 4x100m medley relay race after clocking 3:40.20.

Narender Berwal has knocked out his opponent in just one minute due to which he progresses to the quarterfinal.

6:22 pm: Swimming - Men's 1500m freestyle -Fast Heat Final
India's Aryan Nehra and Kushagra Rawat have finished 7th & 8th, respectively, in men's 1500m freestyle - fast heat final.

5:05 pm: Tennis - Mixed Doubles - Round 2
Indian pair of Ankita Raina and Yuki Bhambri beat their Pakistani counterparts Sarah Khan and Aqeel Khan of Pakistan 6-0, 6-0.

Sumit Nagal beats Kazakhstan's Beibit Zhukayev 7-6 (9), 6-4 to go into the quarterfinals.

Sumit Nagal wins a marathon first set after a long-drawn tiebreak. The Indian is pumped up.

2:46pm: Equestrian - Dressage Team Win Gold!
India has won a gold medal in the Team Dressage event for the first time in 41 years. The quartet of Hriday Chheda, Divyakriti Singh, Anush Agarwalla and Sudipti Hajela has bagged the historic gold.

2:41pm: Tennis - Nagal In Duel
Sumit Nagal is engaged in an intense battle with Kazakhstan's Beibit Zhukayev. The big-serving Kazakh is making it very difficult for Sumit to break. The first set has now gone to a tie-break.

Sachin defeats Indonesia’s Asri Uddin by a 5:0 unanimous decision to march into the men's 57kg Round of 16.

India’s Sachin Siwach is now in the boxing ring. He takes on Indonesia’s Asri Udin in the men’s 57kg category in their round of 32 bout.

12:29pm: Shooting - Recap of Divyansh-Ramita's Near-Bronze
Asian Games 2023 medallists Divyansh Panwar and Ramita Jindal buckled under pressure as they squandered a big lead to lose to Korea in an engrossing bronze medal match of the 10m air rifle mixed team event. Divyansh and Ramita were leading 8-0 initially but the Korean pair of Park Hajun and Lee Eunseo made a remarkable comeback to win the match 20-18. Ramita, who on Monday won the 10m air rifle team silver and individual bronze, was the more consistent of the two and had four shots of 10.8 while Divyansh had one. Divyansh also had two bad shots of 9.9 and 9.8. The 20-year-old Panwar, who was part of the 10m air rifle gold-winning team on Monday, shot 314.3, while the 19-year-old Ramita shot 313.9 to aggregate 628.2.

Hriday Vipul Chedda and his horse Chemxpro Emerald score 69.941 points in Individual Dressage, and is currently placed on top of the standings in his category. 13 more riders to come, however, so it is subject to change.

India's Rutuja Bhosale bows out in the third round of women's singles, losing 6-7 (5), 2-6 to Alex Eala of Philippines.

Neha Thakur has won the silver medal in the Girls' Dinghy ILCA4 category.

10:12am: Fencing - Recap of Bhavani's Campaign
Star Indian fencer Bhavani Devi's impressive run at the Asian Games came to an end in the quarterfinals, suffering a 7-15 loss to local favourite Yaqi Shao in the women's sabre individual category. One win shy from a maiden Asian Games medal, Bhavani managed three touches in the first period of the quarterfinals. But her Chinese opponent was superior as she took an 8-3 lead and needed just seven more touches to qualify for the semi-final. The 30-year-old Bhavani out-skilled all her five opponents to top her pool that gave her a bye to the pre-quarters, where she overwhelmed Tonkhaw Phokaew 15-9.

Tulika Maan has won her repechage bout against Chinese Taipei’s Tsai Jia Wen in the 78kg category and will fight for the bronze medal at 1:30pm.

10:01am: Hockey - Recap of India's Big Win
Skipper Harmanpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh slammed a hat-trick each as India mauled Singapore 16-1 to register their second consecutive win. The Indians continued their goal-scoring spree after the 16-0 rout of Uzbekistan. Harmanpreet (24th, 39th, 40th, 42nd minutes) and Mandeep (12th, 30th, 51st), Abhishek (51st, 52nd), Varun Kumar (55th, 55th), Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (16th), Gurjant Singh (22nd), Vivek Sagar Prasad (23rd), Manpreet Singh (37th), Shamsher Singh (38th) were the goal scorers for India. India will next face defending champions Japan on Thursday.

Divyansh and Ramita miss the bronze medal by a whisker, and after a thrilling shoot-off, end in the fourth spot behind the Korean pair.
