Premier League Highlights, Sunday Clock Watch: Liverpool Secures Dramatic Win; Palace, Fulham Clinch Victory

Hello and welcome back to our live blog for Premier League 2025-26, Sunday Clock Watch. We have a packed Matchday 27 on the way, with Liverpool taking on Nottingham Forest, Wolves hosting Crystal Palace, and Sunderland hosting Fulham.

We’re off and running across the Premier League!

At the City Ground, referee is Anthony Taylor. He led the players out to a great reception. Crystal Palace start as the heavy favourites against Wolves. Sunderland and Fulham are separated by just two points. Some exciting action awaits fans across the three games.

Sangare floats Hudson-Odoi through and Alisson has to rush out to block at his feet! The ball then cannons off the Forest man and bounds out for a goal kick. Nottingham Forest is moving the ball with venom around the edge of the Liverpool box. Dealth with Virgil van Dijk.

Mosquera fails to get the right connection with his pass back to Sa, allowing Pino to break through. With the goalkeeper in no-man’s land, Pino attempts the chip shot, but it goes just wide of the post. Wharton is perhaps lucky to escape an early booking, as he takes down Tchatchoua, who had knocked the ball past the Englishman.

Nordi Mukiele is injured and is taken off. Mukiele did his best to carry on after that injury, but he'll now be replaced by on-loan RB Leipzig right-back Lutsharel Geertruida for the Black Cats. Mukiele is the second Sunderland player subbed off inside the first 12 minutes of a Premier League game this season.

Gibbs-White is the first man in Anthony Taylor's book today, as he fouls Gakpo and then obstructs Szoboszlai taking the free-kick inside the Liverpool half.

Forest has still been the better side. They won a free-kick in the right-centre of the Liverpool half. It goes short to Hutchinson, but Van Dijk nodded out aptly. In the next phase, Gibbs-White weny down under the challenge of Gravenberch, Penalty shouts were waved away. Unbothered, Anderson flashes an effort past the base of the left post.

Huge opportunity for Wolves to take the lead, as Hugo Bueno’s corner finds Arokodare in the six-yard box. He fails to make a good connection with the ball, as his effort is going wide of the post. It bounces of Mosquera, who can’t react quick enough to divert on target.

More good work down the right from Ta Bi sees Sunderland win a corner which the Ivorian debutant delivers. The ball is fired through the crowd and comes to Diarra in the box, but the substitute's half-volley on the turn is blocked by Andersen!

Quick, direct passing on the turn from both Iwobi and Smith Rowe sees the latter send Sessegnon on a late run into the box. The left-back cuts onto his weaker right foot and shoots but can only slice his effort wide of the target!

Canvot receives a booking for dragging down Mane just outside the Palace box. Dangerous free-kick opportunity for Wolves. Bellegarde’s free-kick is a fantastic one, as he bends a low effort towards the goal, but Henderson does well to get down and make the save. It isn’t certain if it would have hit the post, or crept into the bottom right corner.

Gakpo tries to curl a ball across for Salah, but Williams is there to nod away. Liverpool haven't really got going so far today. Their only touch inside the opposition box came from Ekitike in what feels like an eternity ago.

After another stoppage in play is held with Ta Bi in receipt of treatment for Sunderland, Fulham easily clear the Black Cats' free-kick from the right. Silva's side counter at speed as Kevin beats Angulo to find space down the left and release Wilson, whose first-time ball across the face of goal is blocked behind for a corner by Hume!

Gibbs-White sets a move in motion with a great driven run through the centre. The ball then drops for him after a Liverpool poke, and Szoboszlai has to jump in front of a powerful shot. The next phase sees another home corner. This time, Anderson floats it onto the roof of the net from the left.

Penalty for Wolves! Mane breaks into the box, after Mosquera looked to have been fouled by Pino just outside, before Wharton takes down the English talent from behind. Henderson dives to his bottom left to save Tolu Arokodare's weak spot-kick.

Angulo and Le Fee play Sunderland's latest corner short, teeing Hume up to hit it from the edge of the box. The Black Cats' captain takes aim with a first-time effort but can only find a crowd of Fulham shirts!

Half-time in all three games. Liverpool started the game slow but they looked like catching up towards the back end. Nottingham Forest has been the better side. Sunderland has tried to break the deadlock against Fulham, but they have been firm in their defence. Meanwhile, Wolves wasted a penalty as Arokodare's shot got saved by Henderson.

First real threat from Liverpool in this second half! A looping left-sided ball to the back post is nodded across by Salah, yet Jones's effort is blocked from close range!

Roefs launches a long ball forward, which is brought down quite superbly by Le Fee on the run. The Sunderland playmaker enters the box before cutting back onto his right foot, and after his attempted throughball for Brobbey is blocked, Geertruida cuts out the Fulham clearance and fires a half-volley wide of the mark!

Raul Jimenez scores from Alex Iwobi's assist to give Fulham the lead in what has been a cagey game so far. After playing a key role in that Iwobi shot which Hume blocked behind for the Cottagers' corner, Jimenez is again left unchecked by the Sunderland defence. The Mexican rises unopposed to connect with Iwobi's delivery, and sends a bullet header into the top-right corner to make it 1–0

It is a second yellow in three minutes for Ladislav Krejci for a foul on Sarr, as he is booked for kicking the ball away! Possibly a harsh decision, with their being a second or two between the referee’s whistle and Krejci’s clearance.

Sangare presses Mac Allister a little too hard and gives away a foul in the centre. Liverpool possession ensues, but little space is available right now. Forest force them backwards.

Penalty to Fulham. After lengthy debate concerning a potential shirt pull on Bassey by Brobbey, the referee heads to the pitchside monitor for a second look, and soon points to the spot. Jimenez makes it two from the spot. Two goals in just seven minutes for the Mexican, who sends Roefs the wrong way to find the bottom-left corne, and makes it 2-0 to Fulham.

Wolves manage to win themselves a free-kick in the Palace half, and see it as an opportunity to get bodies into the area. Hugo Bueno’s free-kick finds Arokodare, but he cannot get the power behind his header.

Enzo Le Fee scores and pulls one back for Sunderland. Keeps them alive in the game. Le Fee steps up from the spot and finds the top-right corner to make it 2–1!! No chance for Leno. The goal comes from a penalty after Sessegnon needlessly drags Ballard to the ground.

Liverpool look promising here, yet play stops as Ortega inadvertently punches Milenkovic in the back of the head. Gomez then launches a throw in from the right, but it's cleared.

Mac-Allister's goal ruled out due to handball. Ngumoha does well on the right and clips in a cross. Ekitike's header is saved, before Aina tries to clear. Mac Allister chucks himself in front of the swivelling defender, and it cannons past the keeper. Ruled out after check.

Palace make the most of the man advantage, as they take their time to get the ball into the box. Mitchell has space out on the left, and plays a low cross into the box. Guessand holds his run, and uses the pace of the cross to divert the ball past Sa.

That should be it for Fulham. The visitors catch Sunderland cold on the break after Sadiki's left-sided cross is headed clear, as Wilson canters into space and over halfway. He's not closed down in the final third and slips a clever throughball in behind for Iwobi, who ghosts in behind Le Fee and lifts the ball over Roefs for 3–1.

Sangare! Ndoye is tackled by Gomez on the edge of the Liverpool box, and the ball pops out nicely to be struck! It's just fizzed wide by the Ivorian!

This time Liverpool finally get the much-awaited lead. It is Mac-Allister again who scores. Szoboszlai puts a great ball into the box and Van Dijk heads it back across Ortega who saves! Mac Allister is there to smash home the parry. The goal stands despite offside check.

What a dramatic victory for Liverpool. In the first-half, they were comfortably second best. Even in the second half, they didn't create much but Alexis Mac-Allister dramatically intervened after the 90-minute mark. First his goal got ruled out due to handball and then he scored again, this time confirming Liverpool's victory.

Fulham secured a comfortable 3-1 win over Sunderland. The first half was cagey with both sides not creating much. But in the second half, Fulham opened up Sunderland and scored three past them. Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez were the stars for them as the latter scored twice and the former assisted one and the scored one.

Crystal Palace also got better of a wasteful Wolves. Arokodare missed the penalty Wolves got in the first half as it was saved by Henderson. Palace controlled possession in the second half and finally in the injury time, Evann Guessand was able to convert the chance. It was enough to secure them a win.
