The match started with Nepal winning the toss and opting to bowl first. Kuwait responded with a strong total, posting 185/8 in their 20 overs.
Kuwait’s Clinto Anto (41 off 30), Meet Bhavsar (35 off 28), and Bilal Tahir (32 off 13) kept the scoreboard ticking with timely boundaries. But the middle overs saw a sudden collapse, from 122/2 to 124/5, which derailed their momentum and blunted what could've been a bigger finish.
Put in to chase 186, Nepal made light work of it, wrapping up the chase in just 18.5 overs.
Openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh laid the perfect platform with a blazing 127-run partnership. Bhurtel hammered 81 off 50, while Sheikh added 53 off 38. After their dismissals, Dipendra Singh Airee took over and closed the game in style with a blistering 31 off just 12, clearing the ropes three times.
Nepal’s bowlers did well to pull things back. Sompal Kami claimed 3/36, and Nandan Yadav chipped in with two wickets.
Yasin Patel was the standout for Kuwait with the ball, returning figures of 2/17, but the rest of the attack got taken apart.
Kushal became the standout performer of the match, setting the tone with the ball and dominating with the bat. His 1/27 in 4 tidy overs kept Kuwait in check early on, and his explosive 81 off 50 ensured Nepal cruised home in the chase.
In the end, Nepal were simply too efficient with the bat. Clean chase, clean finish, and they walk away with two points and a boost in confidence.
