Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal registered his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL) folklore as he bagged his second hat-trick of his IPL career during their match against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday, April 30. (As It Happened | Scorecard | Full Coverage)
Chahal went on to pick wickets of Deepak Hooda, Anshul Kambhoj and Noor Ahmad in three consecutive deliveries in the 19th over to complete his hat-trick.
The Indian spinner ended up with figures of 4/32 as CSK were bowled out for 190 runs after being put into bat first by PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer. Chennai Super Kings endured yet another defeat, as Punjab Kings won by four wickets.
Chahal picked up his second hat-trick in the IPL the other one came against KKR in 2023. He joins the likes of Yuvraj Singh and Amit Mishra to take multiple hat-tricks.
Moreover, Chahal is also the first bowler to get a hat-trick against the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings.

Speaking of the game, Chennai Super Kings were knocked out of the IPL 2025 playoffs race after their defeat to PBKS.
"It was the first time we put enough runs on the board, but I feel it was slightly short of a par score. It's demanding on the batsmen but we needed slightly more. The partnership between (Sam) Curran and (Dewald) Brevis was fantastic," Dhoni said after the match.
