Punjab: BSF Recovers Drone Near Pakistan Border Making It Eighth One Within A Week

A drone was recovered from an agricultural field in Punjab's Tarn Taran district near the Pakistan border on Monday by the Border Security Force.

BSF forces have confiscated the eighth Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle in Punjab within the last week, all of which were utilized for heroin smuggling across the border.

Acting on precise intelligence, troops collaborated with Punjab Police in a joint search operation on the outskirts of Mehdipur village in Tarn Taran on Monday.

During the operation, a quadcopter manufactured in China was discovered in a field, according to an official statement.

A BSF further told PTI that over the past week, its troops have intercepted and retrieved a total of eight Pakistani drones along with five kilograms of heroin.

"Over the last seven days, the alert troops of @BSF_Punjab intercepted and recovered eight Pakistani drones engaged in smuggling narcotics into India. Along with it, the BSF successfully seized approx 5 kilogrammes heroin and apprehended two smugglers," it said in a post on X.

"Notably, all the intercepted drones are made in China and were used to carry out cross-border smuggling," it added.
