Saying the Opposition is “frustrated” over the results in recently conclude assembly polls Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday alleged the former disrespected Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Joshi lambasted the Opposition members for ruckus in the LOk Sabha.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha amid protests by the Opposition members following suspension of the ... members from the House for winter session, he said “people taught the Opposition lesson” in the recent assembly elections, ANI reported.

Recently, BJP won assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, while Telangana was sole consolation for Congress. 

Joshi alleged that Opposition  members had brought morphed photo of Modi. “I strongly condemn this,” he said.

Earlier, in the day 49 MPs were sacked from Lok Sabha. This comes a day after the unprecedented move of suspension of 78 opposition Members of Parliament.

Supriya Sule, Farooq Abdullah, Shashi Tharoor, Karti Chidambaram and Dimple Yadav are said to be among the 49 MPs who have been suspended from Lok Sabha today, reports said.

Reacting to the fresh suspensions, including his own, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said: "...It is clear that they want an Opposition-mukt Lok Sabha and they will do something similar in Rajya Sabha. At this point, unfortunately, we have to start writing obituaries for Parliamentary democracy in India...Today, in solidarity with my colleagues, I too joined the protest and everybody who was present has been suspended for the rest of the session which means they want to pass their Bills without any discussion. I think it is a betrayal of Parliamentary democracy..."

Monday's action took the total number of opposition MPs suspended from both houses to 92 since last Thursday on the issue of Parliament security breach. 

As many as 33 members were suspended from the Lok Sabha followed by the Rajya Sabha where 45 leaders were handed suspension after Opposition refused to budge on their demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah over the breach incident in Parliament security that took place on December 13.

On December 13, two protesters jumped into the lower house chamber and opened smoke cans when proceedings were on.

Congress on Tuesday said it is truly ironical that the BJP MP "who helped the two intruders" gain entry to the Lok Sabha on December 13 continues to be an MP, while INDIA bloc MPs demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah over the issue have been suspended from Parliament.

The suspension of 78 opposition MPs sparked massive outrage from the Congress and other parties that accused the BJP government of trying to bulldoze key legislations in an "Opposition-less" Parliament.
