Delhi police cracked the murder case of a woman whose body was found in a drain almost a month ago. Police have arrested the victim’s husband for allegedly killing her and dumping her body in a drain. According to NDTV, the case was solved with the help of a single nose pin.
What Happened?
On March 15, 2025, the woman’s body was found in a drain in Delhi, wrapped in a bedsheet and was tied to a stone and a cement sack. There was nothing except a nose ring to identify the dead body.
How Did Police Solve The Mystery?
Police started an investigation with that nose pin. With the help of the nose pin they tracked a jewellery shop in south Delhi from where it was bought.
They checked the record of the jewellery shop and found that the bill of that specific nose pin was issued in the name of Anil Kumar, a Delhi based businessman and property dealer. They got the details that Anil Kumar works in Dwaraka and he lives in a farmhouse in Gurugram.
This helped Delhi police in finding out the identity of the deceased. The woman was identified as Seema Singh,47. She was Anil Kumar’s wife for 20 years.
When the cops reached Anil Kumar and asked him about his wife and wished to speak to her, he replied, "She has gone to Vrindavan without a phone". This made the incident more suspicious.
On April 11, cops reached Anil Kumar’s office in Dwaraka. From there they collected the contact number of Kumar’s mother-in-law from a diary. They contacted with the in-laws of Kumar. Seema’s sister Babita informed the police that they couldn’t contact Seema from March 11. When they called her, Anil said that she was in Jaipur and she wasn’t in the mood to talk to them.
This continued for few days and then Babita and her family tried to file a missing report but Kumar assured them that she is fine.
On April 1, cops called the family members to identify the body. They found out that it was Seema. A day later, Seema’s elder son also identified the body as her mother’s .
Police suspect that Kumar is there behind the murder. They have arrested Kumar and his guard Shiv Shankar.
