Earthquake Hits Bangladesh, Tremors Felt In India's Northeast

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the magnitude of the quake was 4.8 on Richter Scale. No report of casualty or damage to property due to the earthquake has been received so far.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Assam's Guwahati and other parts of the Northeastern region on Friday, as per media repeorts.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the 4.8 magnitude quake is in Bangladesh.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.8, Occurred on 16-06-2023, 10:16:15 IST, Lat: 24.86 & Long: 91.98, Depth: 70 Km ,Region: Bangladesh", 

No report of casualty or damage to property due to the earthquake has been received so far.

Preciously, on June 11, another earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit the central part of Assam.

There was no immediate report of any loss of life or injury to anyone or damage to property, it said.

A National Center for Seismology report said the latest quake was recorded at 11:35 am with the epicentre in Sonitpur district on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra river.
