Amidst Punjab police's search efforts for pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh, the latter released a video on YouTube, saying he will not surrender. In an earlier video, Singh slammed the Punjab government for not trying hard enough to arrest him.
According to reports, in the new video, Singh reportedly said that the earlier video was not made in police custody and he was speaking freely, also reassuring that he wouldn’t flee out of fear. "I am not a fugitive, but a rebel. I have not run away. I will appear in front of the world soon. I am not afraid of the government. Do whatever you want to do," he said.

He had also surfaced in an audio clip in which he debunked speculation that he is negotiating his surrender and nudged the Akal Takht again to summon a “sarbat khalsa” congregation. "I have urged the jathedar to call the sarbat khalsa. Call the sarbat khalsa, and prove that you are the jathedar,” he said in the new audio clip.
Piling pressure on the Sikh body, he said, “If we are going to play politics even today, doing the same things we used to do earlier, then what’s the point of being a jathedar in the future,” he said in Punjabi. "We should understand that today is the time for the entire community to come together,’’ he added, calling for “unity” among Sikh bodies.

Earlier today, Punjab police doubled down in its crackdown on pro-Khalistan leader and deployed a drone in a village in Hoshiarpur district where some suspects had abandoned their car following a chase two days ago.
