MTV VMAs 2023 captivated music lovers and fans worldwide, setting the internet ablaze. The performances by every artist, whether it was Shakira or Taylor Swift, were the highlight for the audience. Ice Spice and Taylor Swift stole the show by clinching major awards.

Rapper Lil Wayne opened the show, paying tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Olivia Rodrigo, who released her latest album "Guts" recently, made her award show debut at the VMA stage, performing the lead single "Vampire" from her new album.

Taylor Swift won the First Moon Person of the Night for "Anti-Hero " and also took home awards for Song of the Year, Best Direction, and Video of the Year for the same album. She was seated near Old Spice, and fans were thrilled to see them together at the show. It was a fangirl moment for her while receiving her first award from the NSYNC boy band group. The group also offered a friendship bracelet.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion delivered an electrifying performance of their new release, "Bongos." After the show, Megan was caught on backstage cameras having a conversation with Justin Timberlake, though the details of their discussion have not been disclosed.

Doja Cat wowed the audience with a performance featuring 27 backstage dancers, creating a visually stunning show for her songs "Paint the Town Red" and “Demons" from her upcoming album, "Scarlet."

Shakira received the Video Vanguard Award, presented to her by her collaborator on "Hips Don’t Lie," Wyclef Jean. Nicki Minaj kicked off her performance with her new song, "Last Time I Saw You" and concluded with a preview of a new track from "Pink Friday 2."

Anita won the Moon Person for Best Latin and performed her singles "Used To Be," "Funk Rave," and "Grib." Daddy received the Global Icon Award and performed a medley from his 1997 hit album, "I Will Be Missing You," evoking nostalgia for that era.

Additionally, pop band TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Anita dazzled the stage with their collaboration, "Back For More." There has been chatter on social media regarding some artists lip-syncing during their performances.
