Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder, bought his fiancée Lauren Sánchez a $68 million mansion in Florida's exclusive "Billionaire Bunker" neighborhood. This newly acquired home is located on the man-made barrier island with its own self-governing body, mayor, and law enforcement. Additionally, notable people including Julio Iglesias, Carl Icahn, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner have also chosen to reside there.
A huge 18-hole golf course that covers 294 acres and about 40 waterfront homes that look out across the bay make Indian Creek island itself stand out as an opulent sanctuary. The home, which was built in 1965, is 9,259 square feet in size and sits on 2.8 acres of waterfront property. Tulia Soucy de Gonzalez Gorrondona, a former hotelier and manager at MTM Star International Corp., a business connected to Panama, according to reports, previously owned the property.
Bezos is expected to tear down the current building and build a lavish new residence on the stunning waterfront property in its place. According to the 2021 census, there are only 81 people living on the island. Reportedly, Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, a former news journalist and pilot, had been looking for a new or renovated property in the Miami area.

It appears that Bezos might not be pleased with just one island property. Reports reveal that he is also considering buying a nearby lot that is currently on the market for $85 million. Reportedly, this home, which is located at 12 Indian Creek Island Road, is bigger than the one Bezos has recently bought. The home's 19,064 square feet of wonderfully opulent space includes seven bedrooms and an amazing 14 bathrooms.
