The movie was the remake of the Telugu blockbuster 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' starring Allu Arjun in the lead role. The Hindi remake was directed by David Dhawan's son Rohit Dhawan. It takes a lot of hard work for the cast and the team to make a movie and when it doesn't do well, one really gets hurt. The same happened with Manisha too. She revealed that she was 'hurt' by 'Shehzada's failure.

When asked if 'Shehzada's failure took a toll on her, the 'Khamoshi' actress said, "It never did. I would give 100% at that point of time and then I move on. So, it didn't really take a toll but of course, because I am attached to my project and want to see its success." She added, "I was hurt and disappointed. I rather wished it had done well but anyways one has to accept life."
