Aamir Khan Reveals Why He Avoids Speaking About Religion In Public; Calls It A 'Dangerous Topic'

Aamir Khan, who is currently basking in the success of Sitaare Zameen Par, opened up about his views on religion and expressed his admiration for Lord Krishna.

Actor Aamir Khan, who made a comeback to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, shared his opinion on religion, and his personal beliefs, during a recent interview. The actor said that he has respect for all faiths and also revealed a dream mythological role he desires to play on screen.

In an interview with The Lallantop, while discussing religion, Aamir Khan said when he meets people, he doesn’t see their religion, he just sees the person. He called religion a "dangerous topic" which he avoids discussing in public. "It is also a very personal thing to each and every individual. I respect people from all religions and the way they follow their religious paths," he shared.

Mr Perfectionist also revealed that the teachings of Guru Nanak have influenced him. He also spoke about his own guru, Sucheta Bhattacharjee, for shaping his spiritual growth.

Recently, Aamir spoke about his dream project, Mahabharat. On Raj Shamani's podcast, he said he will start working on it after the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. "I feel like that’s one project which, once I’ve done it, might leave me with the feeling that there’s nothing more I can do after that," he said.

The Laal Singh Chaddha star also called it's "layered, emotional, vast in scale, and full of grandeur" and "everything that exists in the world can be found in Mahabharat."

Who knows we might see Aamir playing Lord Krishna in the upcoming magnum opus.
