European Qualifiers Highlights, FIFA World Cup 2026: Gyokeres Fires Sweden To Victory; Wales Lose On Penalties

Kosovo hold off a spirited Slovakia to take the game 4-3. Denmark are through to the World Cup qualifying finals after beating North Macedonia 4-0. They will next face either Czech Republic or Republic of Ireland, with their match having gone to extra time.

Sweden are also through after beating Ukraine 3-1 and will next take on Poland, who beat Albania 2-1.

Kosovo held on to beat Slovakia 4-3 and will play Turkey for a place at this summer's World Cup.

Wales 1-1 Bosnia-Herzegovina is in extra-time whereas Czech Republic are level against Republic of Ireland in extra-time as well.

Wales vs Bosnia-Herzegovina and Czech Republic vs Republic of Ireland is heading to penalty shootout. Teams were unable to create opportunities in extra-time and now we will require penalties to decide the winner.

Heartbreak for the likes of Wales and Republic of Ireland as they lose on penalties and fail to secure a spot at the World Cup 2026. Neco Williams misses his penalty as Bosnia and Herzegovina win 4-2 on penalties. Elsewhere, Czechia beat Republic of Ireland 4-3 on penalty shootout.

Finals matchups are: Sweden vs. Poland; Turkey vs. Kosovo; Denmark vs. Czech Republic. Italy vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina
