Shubman Gill – Not really, chasing is usually good here, but hopefully we’ll have a good game. It’s all about assessing the conditions early, getting off to a solid start and setting the foundation nicely. Games like that (against MI) can happen in a big tournament like this, but we’re focusing on the positives. Two changes for us: Jason Holder comes in and Manav Suthar is back.

Rajat Patidar – I just feel this might be a bowl-first pitch. And as you all know, chasing gives you a lot of clarity about the target and the total. One change for us, Salt has picked up an injury, so Bethell comes in. One really good thing this year is that we’ve been reading the wicket and the situation quite well. Of course, there’s a lot of planning behind it. It’s pretty obvious, whenever you come here to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, it’s a good batting surface, but with not much grass on it, the first innings could be a bit tacky.

And here we go, right on cue, the action kicks off! Sai Sudharsan walks out alongside Shubman Gill, the pair looking composed as they take guard. Sudharsan will face the first ball, all eyes on him now, and charging in with the new ball is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, ready to set the tone early.

Things are looking smooth for Gujarat Titans’ openers early on, and oh, that’s a bit cheeky from Sai Sudharsan. Hazlewood hits a short-of-a-length just outside off, Sudharsan shuffles right across, tries the lap, gets a faint inside edge, and it beats a wrong-footed Jitesh Sharma.

He dives to his right, but it’s already racing away to the boundary. A streaky one, but they all count, and GT won’t mind that at all.

FIFTY for Sai Sudharsan, and what a way to get there! Oh, that just came out of nowhere… he shuffles across once again and whips Shepherd with that audacious flick, uses the pace beautifully and sends it sailing over for six. That’s not just innovation, that’s confidence flowing!

And he’s not done yet, next ball, pure class. Width offered, and Sudharsan leans into it, crunching a gorgeous cover drive that races away for four. From cheeky to textbook in a heartbeat, and he’s making this look ridiculously easy right now.

Krunal Pandya floats it in and Shubman Gill just launches it. Gill drops to one knee and absolutely smokes the slog sweep over deep backward square leg. Clean strike, pure timing, that has disappeared into the stands. Both openers are in complete control out there, everything just flowing for Gujarat Titans right now.

Suyash Sharma strikes, and Chinnaswamy finally finds its voice.

That’s the breakthrough RCB were hunting for. A googly, slightly short, and Shubman Gill goes after it looking to clear the ropes. But he doesn’t quite get the timing right this time, and it goes straight up.

Devdutt Padikkal settles under it comfortably, no drama, no confusion, and completes the catch. A huge roar from the crowd as RCB finally break this opening stand.

Gill walks back after a solid knock, built with control but maybe just a touch of restraint considering how well set he was. He falls for 32 off 24, including 2 fours and a six.

Suyash Sharma strikes, but Sai Sudharsan is still standing tall, and now he’s done it! His first IPL 2026 century is up.

Oh, what a moment this is. He just nudges a short and wide one outside off through the off-side for a single, and that’s it, the milestone is complete. A calm finish to a classy, composed knock.

The crowd rises at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, GT supporters on their feet, teammates out in the dugout applauding every bit of it. You can feel the appreciation in the air.

And rightly so, this has been a proper opener’s innings: controlled early, expressive when set, and full of authority against the RCB attack. Sudharsan just keeps delivering, especially against RCB.

Hazlewood strikes, and that’s the end of a magnificent innings.

Short, quick, angling around off stump, Sudharsan goes for it, but this time he can’t keep it down. It flies straight back and Hazlewood reacts in a flash, what a sharp caught-and-bowled that is! Safe hands, quick reflexes, and RCB finally have their big wicket.

Sai Sudharsan walks back to a huge ovation after a brilliant 100 off 58 balls, packed with 11 fours and 5 sixes. A classy, controlled, and dominant knock comes to an end, but what an impact he’s left behind in the middle.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar strikes again.

A low full toss outside off, Buttler sees the opportunity and goes for the reverse scoop, oh, but he doesn’t quite get it right. It flies straight to Josh Hazlewood at short third man, and he makes no mistake with a sharp, safe catch inside the circle.

That’s a massive wicket with more than two overs still left, and you can feel the shift in momentum here. Buttler was looking dangerous, capable of finishing strong, but this surface hasn’t made life easy for the new batters either.

Jos Buttler walks back for 25 off 16, with 2 fours and a six, an impact innings, but RCB will take that wicket every day of the week.

GT finish on 205/3, and that’s a proper total put on the board.

Holder did swing a couple of blows in the middle overs, but Krunal Pandya pulled things back nicely to stop it from getting out of hand. Still, Gujarat Titans will feel they left a bit out there, never really found that full-on explosion to really slam the door shut.

It’s 205 to chase, and RCB will absolutely fancy this under these lights. But GT’s bowling unit has enough quality to make things interesting, and that’s where the real battle begins now.

And we are underway with the chase at the Chinnaswamy.

Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli are out in the middle, ready for the 206-run pursuit. Bethell takes strike, eyes locked in… and Mohammed Siraj has the new ball in hand, steaming in to open the attack. Big chase, big stage, RCB need a strong start here.

This one will haunt Washington Sundar,

Kohli gets a big early lifeline! Siraj goes full on the pads, Kohli clips it in the air but doesn’t quite time it. It goes straight to mid-wicket where Sundar settles under it, and puts it down. Came right into his hands at a comfortable height, one he’ll expect to hold every day of the week.

Kohli survives, RCB breathe easy, and GT miss a golden chance right at the start.

FOUR for Virat Kohli.

That’s short, and Kohli is all over it. He gets on the rise and absolutely smashes it over the covers. No half measures, just clean timing and pure class as the ball races away to the boundary.

Virat Kohli goes big again! Rashid Khan drifts one in and Kohli is right on it, rocking back and launching it cleanly over deep mid-wicket. That’s pure timing and power, sailing into the stands with ease. The partnership with Devdutt Padikkal is starting to take control now, and RCB are building strong momentum in this chase.

Kagiso Rabada goes in, and Kohli works it into the gap wide of mid-wicket for a single. That’s all he needs. The bat goes up straight away, and the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium explodes in appreciation for their superstar. A composed, classy knock again under pressure, and he soaks in every bit of the moment.

Rashid Khan strikes, and what a moment for Gujarat Titans.

Devdutt Padikkal goes after it, looking to keep the momentum going, but this time he misses completely. The ball sneaks through and crashes into the stumps, clean and decisive. Rashid Khan has his man!

Padikkal walks back after a superb 55 off 27 balls, including 2 fours and 6 sixes, after playing a blazing hand at the top. A big breakthrough right when RCB were building nicely.

Jason Holder strikes, and Virat Kohli’s brilliant knock comes to an end.

This one’s on the shorter side around off, Kohli goes for the pull but gets an inside edge, and it crashes into the stumps. Holder is absolutely pumped up, fist raised in celebration, while Kohli stands there for a moment, clearly disappointed after looking in sublime touch all evening.

What an innings though, 81 off 44, with 8 fours and 4 sixes. He was even dropped early on, but made it count in style. The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium rises as one to give him a standing ovation as he walks back, acknowledging the applause. A big, big wicket right at a crucial stage.

Manav Suthar strikes, and RCB lose another.

A tossed-up delivery, and Rajat Patidar looks to go big straightaway, clears the front leg and goes for the big hit. But he doesn’t quite get it right, completely miscues it towards extra cover. Washington Sundar tracks it back calmly and takes a solid catch moving backwards.

Patidar departs for 8 off 5, including a six, and this chase suddenly has a bit of a twist to it. Wickets keep falling even as runs keep coming, and the required rate stays in that tricky 7-run zone.

That’s been pulled away with authority! A short ball from Holder and Krunal Pandya swivels across, gets right on top of it and whips it towards deep square leg. No stopping that one!

Scores are level now, and the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is absolutely buzzing. Just one run needed for victory, RCB are right there, one hit away from sealing it.

Jason Holder goes short, and Krunal Pandya is quick to react, he gets under it and hooks it fine, sending it racing towards the fence. That’s it, the winning runs are sealed.

What a finish at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Players shake hands out in the middle as the RCB camp erupts near the dugout, hugs, smiles, and pure relief everywhere. A strong chase completed in style, and RCB walk away with a big win.
