Salt and Kohli are out in the middle, Salt takes strike. Auqib Nabi with the new ball, ready to get us underway.
End of the first over and it’s a flying start, 13 without loss! A wide to begin, but then both batters get going with crisp strokes. Kohli finds the boundary, Salt responds in style, and the runs are flowing already. Nabi under pressure early, and Bengaluru off to a lively start with both openers on 6 each!
End of over 2, 21 without loss, steady start continues. A couple of quiet balls to begin, but Kohli breaks the lull with a crisp boundary. Salt rotates strike nicely, and despite a wide, the bowler pulls things back well. Good recovery after the first over, but the openers remain in control.
The openers continue their solid start. Kohli looks fluent, picking up another boundary with ease, while Salt plays the supporting role at the other end. A quieter over overall with just 7 runs, but the openers remain well set and in control as the powerplay progresses.
Delhi Capitals draw the first blood in the form of in-form Virat Kohli, who departs after scoring 19 off 13 balls. Lungi Ngidi bowls a full slower ball outside off stump enticing Kohli to play a lofted cover drive, while Kohli takes the baits and hits in straight into the hands of the deep covers fielder.
RCB 59/1 (6)
Nine overs done and dusted and RCB are in a strong position currently with 90 runs on board for the loss of only one wicket. Phil Salt after a scratchy start found form and smashed a 30-ball fifty. He is well-complemented by Devdutt Padikkal, who's batting well on 11 off 9 balls.
RCB 90/1 (9)
10 runs comes from the over off Kuldeep Yadav but there has been a mini-comeback for Delhi Capitals as they get two wickets in back-to-back overs. First Devdutt Padikkal falls off Axar Patel followed by Phil Salt's wicket, who gave a straight forward catch to the long off fielder off Kuldeep Yadav.
RCB 110/3 (11)
Out! Rajat Patidar is gone, and Mukesh Kumar is the one who got the dangerous Patidar. That was a brilliant move by Axar Patel to not introduce spinners in front of Patidar and it paid dividends as Kumar got Patidar caught behind.
RCB 132/4 (13)
That's a big blow for RCB as Axar Patel sends the dangerous looking Tim David back in the dug out for 26 off 17 balls. David makes room and tries to tonk Axar Patel down the ground but ends up getting a thick edge into the hands of short third man fielder.
RCB 146/5 (15.2)
Finally RCB's innings gets some impetus with 14 runs from the over of Lungi Ngidi. RCB would want to score as many runs as possible from the last two overs to get their team to a strong total.
RCB 167/6 (18)
Lungi Ngidi gives just 6 runs from the last over to restrict RCB at 175/8 in 20 overs. RCB were 146/4 in 15 overs but score only 29 runs in the last five overs. DC bowlers pulled back thins quite well to restrict the defending champions to a below par total.
RCB 175/8 (20)
Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes a sensational start as he traps Pathum Nissanka in front of wickets. Nissanka comes down the track but the ball comes back in sharply to hit the pads. While the umpire denies but RCB takes a review, which shows that the ball hit the top of the stumps.
DC 2/1 (1)
Last time when both teams met in Bengaluru, KL Rahul played a memorable innings of 93 not out off just 53 balls to guide Delhi home, while chasing a target of 169 runs. What garnered more limelight was KL Rahul's Kantara celebration after hitting the winning shot, indicating the passion of playing a winning knock at his home ground.
Watch the iconic celebration here.
RCB are all over DC as the visitors lose their 3rd wicket in just the third over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets Sameer Rizvi caught behind to get his second wicket and DC are now in heaps of trouble as Tristan Stubbs join KL Rahul.
DC 22/3 (3)
KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs forge an unbeaten 32-run stand for the 4th wicket to bring DC into the game after losing three early wickets. KL Rahul looked aggressive so far, scoring 31 off 18 balls. DC now need 126 runs to win in 84 balls.
DC 50/3 (6)
Both KL Rahul (44*) and Tristan Stubbs (14*) have stitched an unbeaten 52-run partnership to get DC to a strong position from 18/3. RCB need to break the partnership, of the match will slip from their grip soon.
DC 70/3 (8)
Just when KL Rahul brings up his 30-ball fifty, he plays a lofted shot to Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli takes a sensational catch to send him back to the dugout. That's a big loss for DC as KL was looking majestic. Axar Patel joins Stubbs in the middle.
DC 87/4 (10.1)
Tristan Stubbs (34*) and Axar Patel (22*) have stitched a very crucial stand in context of the match. Both the batters have an unbeaten 38-run stand for the 5th wicket as DC now need just 51 runs off 36 balls.

DC 179/4 (19.5)
