Royal Challengers Bengaluru edge past Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets in Match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
The defending champions have now moved to the top of the points table with 14 points from 11 matches, while the five-time champs became the second team to get eliminated from the tournament after LSG.
After sending MI to bat first, Bhuvneshwar Kumar rattled them by sending their three key batters back within the powerplay. Tilak Varma (57) and Naman Dhir (47) forged a 82-run stand for the 4th wicket to take MI out of the precarious position and took them to a respectable score of 166.
In reply, RCB lost the big wicket of Kohli for a duck early in the followed by Devdutt Paddikal and Rajat Patidar, leaving them 28/3 under three overs. However, Krunal Pandya didn't back down in testing conditions and played a valiant knock of 73 to take his team closer to the target.
But once he got out, RCB once again found their backs against the wall as they needed 9 runs from the last over with Romario Shephard gone but Bhuvneshwar Kumar this time around took the matters in his hand with the bat and struck a timely six to get the equation to 2 off the last ball.
Rasikh Salam hits it back to the bowler, who gets a hand to the ball, which results in the batter taking a double before the long-on fielder could throw it back to the keeper thus getting a famous win for RCB.
