Summary

  • Jos Inglis and Mohsin Khan are out of playing XI due to injury

  • LSG is almost eliminated from the tournament

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will up be against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match 50 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Thursday, May 7.

LSG have had a shambolic season so far, winning just two games out of nine, registering their sixth consecutive loss of the season against the Mumbai Indians in their last match.

LSG started well by winning two out of their first three games, but after everything went downhill for them, the situation is that even if they win their remaining five matches, they could reach up to 14 points, and even that won't guarantee them a place in the playoffs.

However, if they lose today, then they'll become the first official team to get eliminated from the playoff race.

On the other hand, RCB are sitting comfortably at the 3rd spot with 12 points from six wins and three losses out of the nine matches played so far.

The defending champions have had a decent season so far and are coming off a loss in their last match. They would want to get back to winning ways as the tournament is heading towards its business end.
