IPL 2026 Auction Live Updates: KKR CEO Venky Mysore Gives His Thoughts On Cameron Green's Signing

First of all, we are very happy. This is something that we were really focused on and hoping always fingers crossed because often anything can happen. I think we were quite happy with the price that we have got. You know, there was always a concern that had it gone higher than what we have done.

I think the fact is that we were very keen but not so attached. So, at some level if we felt that it would affect our auction, rest of the auction, we will let it go. And so, fortunately that didn’t happen. It came within the range that we were extremely happy with that. I think he adds a lot to our team and especially with our new power coach (Andre Russell) who is on board, I think it’s a very nice thing to have a young one on the field. We know what he does at the international stage with the vibe, with the ball, position in which he plays. So, couldn’t be happier in the new conditions.

IPL 2026 Auction Live Updates: PBKS Co-Owner And Skipper Speak

Ness Wadia said, “From retaining two [in the 2025 auction] to 21, it’s a dream. We have very little to do in the auction tomorrow, so we have come here to see what other teams do. If we find the right player at the right price, we might step in.”

Wadia also commented on how a mini-auction can be tougher than a mega one as every decision needs to be made carefully.

“Without a doubt, a mini-auction is more difficult because you are looking for a top-up. While you are doing that, others are topping up too. Some have bigger purses, while yours is different. But like I said, we have retained 21 players, so as far as we’re concerned, we are set,” said the owner.

Captain Shreyas Iyer, who will also be at the auction table on Tuesday, recognized the transition the team has undergone over the past year to build a more stable squad.

Crediting head coach Ricky Ponting for this change, Iyer said: “I feel it all started with Ricky coming on board. He is fabulous. His player management skills are amazing. He provides confidence and freedom to every individual, from the most senior player to the newcomers.”

He continued: “When you have people like that alongside you, it gives a player immense motivation and confidence. I felt that basically gave us the liberty to go out there and perform to the best of our abilities.”
