Ahead of Day 5 of the second Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the weather is expected to be sunny with clear skies and no chance of rain. Temperatures will rise from around 24°C (75°F) in the late morning to a peak of 32°C (89°F) in the afternoon, with light winds of about 5 km/h and humidity hovering around 46%.

While the conditions are ideal for cricket, the Air Quality Index is forecasted to enter the ‘poor’ category, which could affect players’ comfort and performance. Fans are advised to stay hydrated and take sun protection while enjoying the match.

India are just 58 runs away from a series-clinching victory after finishing Day 4 at 63 for one. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal fell early for 8, but KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings with unbeaten knocks of 25 and 30, keeping India firmly on course.

West Indies fought hard, with a resilient 79-run last-wicket partnership between Justin Greaves (50*) and Jayden Seales (32) providing some resistance before Jasprit Bumrah broke through to end the stand.

Day 5 is underway, and the players are out for the final showdown. India looks set to chase down the remaining runs with ease, but West Indies will hope for a few early wickets to keep the drama alive. Warrican opens the attack with spin, tossing it up on off and middle, but KL Rahul leans in confidently, driving and defending with ease.

The ball finds short cover-point, the stumps remain intact, India’s calm, measured approach suggests this one could be wrapped up sooner rather than later.

Roston Chase strikes and Sai Sudharsan is gone, edging one straight into Shai Hope’s waiting hands at slip! It was a beautifully flighted delivery on off, Sudharsan lured into a big drive, but the ball dipped and turned just enough to catch the edge. Hope had almost no time to react, yet he stretched and plucked a sensational one-handed catch.

West Indies finally get something to cheer on Day 5, Sudharsan departs for 39 off 76, with five crisp boundaries.

Gill is at the crease now, taking his time against Warrican’s spin. The off-spinner tosses one up around middle and leg, and Gill nudges it carefully toward short leg, no run. The next delivery is a tad short on off, and he punches it gently toward cover. The field is alert with a slip, gully, and short leg in place, but Gill remains composed, ticking the strike over without giving anything away.

India wrap up the series 2-0, adding 12 vital WTC points. West Indies fought hard, refusing to crumble after the follow-on, with Hope, Campbell, Greaves, and Seales making India earn every run. The pitch held up well, and despite a couple of early wickets today, KL Rahul’s steady fifty guided India home comfortably for a well-deserved series win.

It feels really great to be honest. After a good series where we gave them a fight (in England), coming back to India and winning the series is special. I've learned a lot in these five games and I'm looking forward to improving on that, and obviously giving a bit more for the team. I was very clear that he would not sweep (on the catch to dismiss John Campbell in the 1st innings), the wicket was low and I knew he'll not play the sweep shot, so I was very brave enough to, you know, hold my position. I was very lucky there. Understanding the role, understanding what a number 3 must do, learning to take responsibility and bat in a risk-free manner (on his learnings going forward). I've played a lot with Shubman Gill. The way he captains, and the way he gives beliefs to the players, I think it's really great. Looking forward to having a lot more opportunities.
