India Vs South Africa, 3rd ODI: Yashasvi Jaiswal Smashes Maiden 50-Over Ton, Joins Elite All-Format Club

Yashasvi Jaiswal stamped his class on the one-day international arena too after Tests and T20Is, hitting his maiden 50-over hundred in just his fourth appearance during the 3rd India vs South Africa ODI in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (December 6, 2025).

Jaiswal thus became just the sixth Indian overall to score a hundred in all three international formats, after Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill.

The southpaw got to three figures in 111 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six, moving from 50 to 100 in just 36 balls. He ended up unbeaten on 116 off 121 balls, guiding India to a thumping nine-wicket win and thus helping clinch the series 2-1.

Jaiswal was not comfortable initially in his innings but the assured presence of senior opening partner Rohit Sharma (75, 73 balls) at the other end was a massive blessing for him. The duo stitched 155 runs in 25.5 overs as India eased to the 271-run target in 39.5 overs. Virat Kohli contributed a classy 65 not out off 45 deliveries.

Jaiswal walked to his fifty in 75 balls. But once he reached his half-century, the left-hander grew in confidence and opened a lot more, unbuckling some of those drives and cuts that he carefully avoided in the early phase of his innings.

The 23-year-old reached the coveted three-figure mark with a single off pacer Corbin Bosch and immediately tore his helmet away to slip into an energetic celebration — a combination of sprint, jump, roar and punch in the air.
