IND 0/0 (0)
Abhishek Sharma Gone! That's a big blow for India as Abhishek Sharma once again falls to an off-spinner. Will Jacks had taken a deep mid-wicket and long-on and bowled Abhishek Sharma on his pads and he falls to the trap giving an easy catch to Phil Salt.
IND 20/1 (2)

Sanju Samson (31*) and Ishan Kishan (15*) punish English bowlers in Mumbai. It's looking like a batting paradise and the Indian batters are making the most of it. Samson was dropped by Harry Brook off Jofra Archer in the third over and since then there has been a flurry of boundaries.
IND 55/1 (5)
The first powerplay of the semi-final comes to an end and it belongs to India as they smashed 67 runs and lost only one wicket of Abhishek Sharma, who departs after scoring 9 runs off 7 balls. Sanju Samson has been the wrecker-in-chief so far scoring 41runs off just 20 balls. He's well complemented by Ishan Sharma, who's batting on 16 off just 9 balls.
IND 67/1 (6)
India take runs off the 9th over off Sam Curran to get a scintillating start in the all-important match. Sanju Samson (65*) and Sam Curran (35*) have forged a run stand for the 2nd wicket and India are well on course for a big first innings total here.
IND 112/1 (9)
Shivam Dubey slams Adil Rashid for two sixes in the 12th over as India motor to a huge first innings score at the Wankhede. Sanju Samson and Shivam Dubey's 3rd wicket partnership now goes to 28 off just 16 balls.
IND 145/2 (12)
Sanju Samson departs after playing a blazing knock of 89 runs off just 42 balls. He smashed 8 fours and 7 sixes during his magnificent innings. Suryakumar Yadav joins Shivam Dubey in the middle for the last 6 overs.
IND 167/3 (14)
India are 177/3 in 15 overs, and given the pitch and the wickets in hands, India will look to score atleast 70 in the last 5 overs to reach to 250.
Hardik Pandya smashes Craig Overton for two fours and a six in the 17th over to take India over 200 in just 17 overs. Given the wickets in hand and the nature of the pitch, India will be aiming at the magical 250-run mark in the semi-final.
IND 205/4 (17)
Jorfa Archer castles Tilak Varma on the fourth ball of the 19th over, but was it too little too late as Varma slammed his three sixes in the first four balls. India are racing towards 250 with Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya on strike.
IND 237/6 (19)
Hardik Pandya strikes two sixes off the last over of Will Jacks to take India past 250 runs at the Wankhede stadium. Though, he gets run-out on the fifth ball of the last over but he played his part well with a 12-ball 27. The last ball goes for a couple as India finish at 253/7 in their quota of 20 overs, setting a target of 254 runs for England to book a place in the final.
IND 253/7 (20)
The highest-ever target chased by an team in a T20 WC game is 230 by England at this only venue against South Africa back in 2016. However, the highest score chased in a knockout is 193 by West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium only.
16 - Sanju Samson in 2026 (in just four matches)
15 - Rohit Sharma in 2024
15 - Shivam Dube in 2026
14 - Ishan Kishan in 2026
14 - Hardik Pandya in 2026
12 - Yuvraj Singh in 2007
Phil Salt and Jos Buttler are in the middle, with Salt set to face the first delivery. Arshdeep Singh has the new ball and will begin England’s chase.
England are off to a confident start in the chase as Arshdeep Singh’s opening over yields 13 runs. Jos Buttler led the charge with a couple of crisp boundaries, while Phil Salt looked positive at the other end to keep the scoreboard moving. The aggressive approach has given England early momentum in the powerplay. After the first over, England are 13 without loss, with Buttler on 8 off 4 balls and Salt on 5 off 2
Hardik Pandya makes an immediate impact for India, striking with the first ball of the over as Phil Salt miscues a big shot and Axar Patel takes a simple catch at cover-point. The wicket slows England’s momentum after their strong start, with Pandya conceding just two runs in the over. After two overs, England are 15/1, with Buttler on 9 (8) and Brook on 1 (1)
Jasprit Bumrah provides India with a crucial breakthrough as Harry Brook departs after a clever slower ball. Brook backs away looking to force the shot but mistimes it, sending the ball looping over the cover region. Axar Patel shows great awareness in the field, running back and completing a sharp diving catch to remove the England batter. The wicket slows England’s progress, though Jacob Bethell briefly counters with a six later in the over. After five overs, England are 45/2, with Buttler on 25 (16) and Bethell on 7 (5).
It turns into a dramatic powerplay over as Varun Chakaravarthy finally gets India the big wicket of Jos Buttler. Jacob Bethell had earlier taken on the spinner with three consecutive sixes, putting India under pressure, but Buttler’s attempt to continue the assault backfires. The England captain swings across the line against a wrong’un and misses, as the ball sneaks through to clip the top of leg stump. India strike at a crucial moment, though England still reach 68/3 after six overs.
Axar Patel delivers a good over to give only runs but England are moving well in terms of run-rate. However, it's the wicket column that will worry them a bit. Jacob Bethell (49*) and Will Jacks (11*) have stitched a 24-run stand but England would want them to take them all the way through.
ENG 119/4 (10)
STAT: Bethell now has the joint-fastest fifty in T20 WC knockouts, alongside Finn Allen, who too, got there in 19 balls against South Africa yesterday.
Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks have batted brilliantly to keep England alive in the chase. Both the batter have forged a scintillating run stand for the 5th wicket and took the Indian bowlers all around the park in style. ENG still need runs to win in balls.
ENG 172/4 (14)
Jasprit Bumrah has bowled a precious over in the context of the match. At the stage, where runs are flowing, Bumrah gives only 8 runs from the over leaving England with 61 runs to win in just 24 balls. Jacob Bethell, who's batting at 83 off 38 balls holds the key for ENG.
ENG 193/5 (16)
Jasprit Bumrah - the magician weaves his magic and bowls a runs 18th over in front of two hard-hitting batters. He finishes his spell, giving just 33 runs in a match, where almost 500 runs are scored. ENG now need 39 runs to win in just 2 overs.
ENG 215/5 (18)
Shivam Dubey bowls the last over with England needing 30 runs off the last over.
Bethell faces the first ball and he gets run out while trying to sneak a double. That's a big big blow for England and India have their one foot in the final now.
The second ball to Archer was a low full-toss and it's only a single. So, it's over for ENG, unless Dubey bowls a no-ball.
The third ball goes for another single and Wankhede goes wild as ENG need 27 off 3 balls now.
Archer smashed the fourth ball for a six but it's too little too late for ENG as they need 21 off just 2 balls.
That's a wide from Dubey.
Jofra Archer smashed another six off the fifth ball.
Archer goes out of the ground once again but it wasn't enough as England fall 7 runs short and India goes into another ICC final.
In a match where 499 runs were scored in 40 overs, Jasprit Bumrah delivered a masterful spell by giving just 33 runs in his 4 overs and took a prized wicket of England skipper Harry Brook.
His 18 overs turned out to be precious, where he gave just 6 runs in front of well-set Jacob Bethell and dangerous Sam Curran. Bumrah's iconic spell took India into the final of T20 World Cup 2026.
It was a batting masterclass by both teams. Sanju Samson blazed a magnificent 89 off just 42 balls, while Jacob Bethell smashed a blistering 105 off 48 to take England close to a historic chase.
However, amid all the frenzy, it was the fielding that differentiated both teams. When Harry Brook dropped Samson, when he was batting on 15, India's Axar Patel took a blinder to dismiss Phil Salt back and orchestrated Sam Curran's dismissal.
Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya deserves a special mention. Bumrah bowled a superb 18th over leaving England requiring 39 runs off 12 balls with a well-set Jacob Bethell in the middle.
At that stage, Hardik Pandya bowled a remarkable 19th over, giving just 9 runs and took the prized wicket of Sam Curran, leaving 30 runs for Shivam Dubey in the last over.
Sanju Samson have been awarded with the 'Player of the Match' award for his heroic 89 off just 42 balls. He played an instrumental role in taking India to a mammoth first innings score of 253/7 on a placid wicket.
"It feels really great. To be honest, I kind of knew that I got some form going from the last game so I thought I needed to continue that. It isn't easy to find your form in crucial games for your country, but I knew this was a big game and I needed to make use of how well I'm batting.
"I gave myself a bit of extra time, I calculated my innings and I prepared well so that's why things came off really nicely. I know I was a bit lucky to start off with but I just wanted to keep going because no score is stoppable here. I just wanted to get as many runs as possible for us because even 250 looks like it could be chased here.
"England played really well, all credit goes to how they batted. We played out a great semi-final. I'm very happy with how our team turned up today."
