IND vs SL 2nd Test: Dhruv Jurel’s Ton Sets The Tone: India Take Charge In Colombo As Sri Lanka Stumble
Another productive day unfolded for India as they took complete control of the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Dhruv Jurel’s first Test hundred on Lankan soil highlighted the second day of the Test, while Rishabh Pant also added an element of entertainment with his rapid 63-run knock as India piled up a mammoth 503/9 before declaring their first innings. Jurel shared 112 with Rishabh Pant to lift India from 307 for six to 419, before adding 39 with Suthar. Jurel’s 177-ball innings showcased remarkable composure, risk-free run accumulation and excellent situational awareness. Sri Lanka were reduced to 8 for two at stumps after Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar dismissed Lahiru Udara and Prabath Jayasuriya respectively. Kamil Mishara was unbeaten on five as the hosts ended the extended session at 5:51 pm, still trailing India by 495 runs.
