GT Vs MI, IPL 2026: Tilak's Century, Ashwani's Four-Fer Help Mumbai Indians Secure Much-Needed Win
Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by 99 runs in the 30th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, April 20, 2026. GT won the toss and have opted to bowl first. They got off to a brilliant start as MI lost three wickets in the powerplay. Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir (45) stitched a short partnership to stabilise the innings. After Naman departed, Tilak changed gears and accelerated massively. He scored an unbeaten 101 in 45 balls to take MI to 199/5. He also scalped five boundaries in one over of Ashok Sharma. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the GT bowlers with figures of 3/33. Chasing it, GT got off to a poor start as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sai Sudharsan in his first ball. Their top three departed in the powerplay as well as GT lost wickets in regular interval. Ashwani Kumar scalped a four-wicket haul on return, closing down the game. With this win, MI move to 7th spot in the points table.
