Australia dismantled Bangladesh by 7 wickets and 54 balls to spare in the final match to clean sweep the three-match series at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Chattogram, on Sunday, June 21.
After losing two back-to-back ODI series to Pakistan and Bangladesh, Australia finally have something to savor as they outclassed Bangla Tigers in all three matches in the T20I leg of the tour.
After electing to bat first, Bangladesh were put on the backfoot straight away by Australian bowlers with early wicket. The hosts could never recover from the start and were restricted at 109/8 in 20 overs by a disciplined Aussie bowling line-up.
Spencer Johnson, Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis picked up two wickets each to derails Bangla Tigers' innings. Skipper Towhid Hridoy was the only batter, who valiantly faced the Aussies and slammed an unbeaten 61 to take his team to a score, at which their bowlers can atleast put up a fight.
In reply, Mitchell Marsh made light work of the chase with a blistering 60-run knock off just 28 balls. At the end, the visitors chased down the target in just 11 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first in the 3rd T20I in Chattogram.
